HuckFEAST 2019
Who plans this far in advance!? Ha! Well, evidently, I... do now. Life is full and the earlier I plan, the easier it becomes.
What? HuckFEAST
When? January 18-21, 2019
Who? Anyone and everyone is welcome, very family-friendly.
Why? Duh.
What else? One of the best meals in off-road Saturday night.
Requirements: A good attitude and big appetite.
For those that have never been, here's the short story... we've been doing this forever and, as of now, have no plans to stop. This year's trip (10th or 11th, depending on who you ask) was a good reminder what a good time it is. Some people arrive Friday (recommended), others arrive Saturday. Some leave Sunday, other wait till Monday (which just about gives you the beach to yourself).
Saturday evening we have the best potluck you'll ever see. Plus, it's on the beach. Meals don't get much better. Then, drinks are had, stories are told and, well, things progress from there. Sometimes they're mellow, sometimes they're not. Know that we like to have a good time. A really good time. But it is a family event, so... you know. don't be that guy.
Oh yeah, why's it called HuckFEAST? I don't remember if this started on the old forum or not, but at some point, someone jokingly called it HuckFEAST because we hucked the hell out of our Broncos and feasted Saturday night. It stuck!
That's the gist of it. I'll post more as we get closer. In the meantime, get your life straight and get ready for a bad ass time.

I have to attend a friend's wedding on the 19th, but maybe I'll be able to make it down for Sunday-Monday.

Bugger it! I could ALMOST make this, as it falls near the end of my R&R, but I'd have to leave on the 20th for Aus, to arrive back in time to go back to work. One of these days, I'll get over for a Huckfeast.
Re: HuckFEAST 2019
I'm a definite maybe. Would be pretty cool to bring my smoker out.

I for one am looking forward to this. After the crap year I've had I'm looking forward to a fun, drama free new year in 2019 and the Huckfeast is a great way to start it.

Re: HuckFEAST 2019
Hmm. Well, I swear I posted this, but I don’t see it. Soooo... either I didn’t click “post” or someone’s screwing with me and deleting posts.
So here it goes again.. or maybe for the first time?
Here’s the deal. I am pushing hard to have Wilson ready for a New Year’s run (and this a few weeks after). I don’t think it’ll be an issue for HuckFEAST but I have, unfortunately, had to schedule work for the same weekend as HuckFEAST. You guys all know what this event and this crew means to me. Regardless, I have poured my entire life into my job and, as a result, personal stuff has suffered. This is one of those cases.
Bottom line: I will be working this weekend, but it will be local. I will do my best to drop off our RV at the campsite so I can always end up at the beach with you guys in the evenings. Also, we will likely be filming on the beach part of the time, so maybe I can stop and hang for a bit.
Bottom, bottom line: I can’t say when, but I will be there and so will Wilson. Game on.
