I just talked to a Ford rep at the Texas State Fair who confirmed that Ford just approved a new Bronco and a new Ranger.

The new Ranger is going to be 4-door and is an attempt to compete with the canyon/colorado.

The rep didn't know too much about the new bronco. He wasn't able to tell me if it will be on a half ton platform or not.

My money is the Bronco will be of the smaller variety but I can see one being on a modified F150 chassis for ease of build. Im not sure but I wonder how well the FSB sold over its 16 years. The automotive market is so different than it was almost 40 years ago when the EB was killed. For me either a EB looking or FSB version is fine as long as they stay true to the offroad prowess of the Bronco regardless of the year. If its a EB style and they come out with a Baja version then dammit I WILL absolutely be a buyer regardless of cost :-)

Don't get too excited as the new ranger may be built like the south american version. If that is the case then nothing to be exited about. I checked one out last year and was not too impressed from a styling or chassis standpoint. I hope Ford gets it right but can we all remember the last version of the T-Bird. Yes I hope the don't screw it up.

If it looks close to this, I'd consider importing one.

I don't want them to bring it back. It went out on top. Although if they bring it back it might help kill some of the stupid pricing you see now?

Don't get me wrong I would love to see a great version come out either off the Raptor for a full size platform or more of an EB style. I got a look at one of the new South American rangers and was not too impressed.
That said you forgot that Ford did come out with the Mustang II. :D Do love the current mustard and GT 40 though.

Being that they are being released together I'm betting they will be based off the Ranger platform. It be nice if they did a 3rd door like the FJs have.

I'm hoping they use the F-150 platform and throw a camper on it like they did the original FSB. They need to keep the rear roll down window and tailgate IMO. Ohh and a Raptor version!

It will either be EB like and compete with the wrangler or a ranger size FSB. The ranger is almost as big as the full size trucks just like the colorado. I wouldn't mind it being smaller to hopefully keep the price down. Raptors are insanely expensive and a raptor bronco would be way up there too. I guarantee it will have a 4 door version as everything now a days does.

Funny - my wife just sent me this link:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/ford-bronco- ... 17413.html

Haven't read it yet & I told her it's been talked about a bunch before so I'll believe it when I see it.

Been busy as heck so haven't been able to keep up here & stopped by to check this section out. Low & behold - this thread & it may be true!

I'd buy one if they'd put TTB on them again....

Reading the comments under the article crack me up. People are pissed off that it most likely won't have a v8. I don't they have driven an ecoboost, they haul the mail!
