That is exactly right! Fun watching the smiles! We have really short vid of them putting around into the driveway around the block. Those smiles lock it in for at least another year or two!;)
And YES, power washer time!!!

Re: 1975 Sweet Pea go-fast'ish build
Well, some news on the "progress" as of late. Took the old girl over to have the carb tuned (Holley TA was running rich) and a little mechanical dial-in attention. The owner of the shop thought the motor was making a little racket so he pulled the pan. Yuck, trashed main bearings and journals, trashed rod bearing, and a chunk of piston skirt laying in the pan...:/
The silver lining: time for a stroker! with a new baby girl and all the other work completed this summer we're trying to find some hp and torque on a bit of a budget. Going 331 on a roller 5.0 HO block, stumbled into some feesh zero mile GT40 heads that have had a little clean up work on the exhaust side. Was hoping to go Ali heads but just don't have the jack. Oh well, it will be an easy drop in later down the road...SO CLOSE!:)

Re: 1975 Sweet Pea go-fast'ish build
Holy cow...TWO YEARS! I can't believe I haven't updated this thing. Motor was TOAST with shot bearing and a piston skirt laying in the pan. It now has a 5.0 Roller stroked to 331 and mildly massaged GT40 heads. It has tons more power...thank Gawd for 4 wheel disc power brakes! Fought some overheating issues all summer (surprise) and think I have them under control. Sitting in traffic in drive at 95* late summer heat is goes up to 180-185* and stays put so far. A 18" 7 blade fan and a Ron Davis "full circle" alluminum fan shrowd to the rescue there.
I've had it down some dirt roads playing and plunked around through some road ditches and pasture/field approaches with some smiles. It's starting to cool off and I'll be working terrible hours until Christmas so nothing big until this winter. I need to make some small adjustments to the steering setup and move the lower shock mounts out so the shock shafts clear the upper bar on the radius arm setup but it's been fun playing around in the sun!!!...and fishing.
I really need some cool and comfy rear suspension seats for the girls so we can get honery at the sand dunes and me feel like a somewhat responsible parent...any suggestions?

Re: 1975 Sweet Pea go-fast'ish build
Holy moly, another two years! Lots of updates and a repair!
Motor kept getting warm in traffic, so I had Devlin Rod & Custom squeezed a Ron Davis rad with Spal fan...it gets TIGHT. Low pro water pump, machined pulleys, and while we were at it ran the engine bay side of a Vintage Air setup for down the road.

Re: 1975 Sweet Pea go-fast'ish build
And now the repair, and what a fun one it was... There is a fun river bed run out in western Kansas called the Pecker Head Run. The knickname my dad called my brother and I (yes, still) is Pecker Head. I have to run it. So I did and found out why everyone plates the frame where the shock mount attaches...it ripped out on the passenger side after going through a 55 MPH section of whoops. The clunk clunk clunking was not a fun sound to hear...it's fixed and the steering linkage / hydraulic assist was beefed up and repositioned.

Re: 1975 Sweet Pea go-fast'ish build
Before you blame anything you need to cycle the suspension properly to find out where that the shocks are placed correctly- no cycling - you’re just guessing
