Nice! You did unbolt the front driveshaft for the tow right?

Negative.

I read a fair amount prior to dragging this thing to Oregon last summer.

My understanding was:

That with a manual shifted transfer case it was acceptable to flat tow with the hubs unlocked, trans in park and t case in neutral.

I disconnect the battery and leave the ign key in the on position to free the steering wheel.

I flat towed my bronco this way from SoCal to Central Oregon and back. No issues to note as of now.

I just flat towed again for two hours and drove it all day after with no issues.

Got it. I assumed auto t-case which was obviously wrong.

Baby progress... but cool enough to check in I spose'.

I found a 2004 Expedition console. (Actually I've had it since I posted last. I scored it while staying up in Glen Helen for a class. I was looking for any reason to not be drinking alone in the motorhome at 4PM.).

Anyway, just got around to making a switch plate and mounting my radio in it. The color isn't perfect and I need to get some labeled switches ordered... but you get the idea.

Next time its apart for switches I'll paint the aluminum. Thinking plastidip satin black, or maybe something with some texture?

Not sure what was up with the photos? But here is the updated... I need to stitch some bracing to the back of the panel as it has just enough flex to bug me.

I had to have my buggy motor gone through which absolutely annihilated my spending money, so I settled for the cheap ebay switches for now. Hopefully they hold up.

I've been curious if they would last too. They look nice considering the price.

Familiar looking screen name. Kinda hard to forget. Did you used to be on the samba back in the day??

Bronco’s looking good. I like the switch plate!!

What to do when there's no real budget or time for real upgrades?

...why, install questionably necessary lighting on your breaks of course.
