I'd go with the ambulance set-up, and focus on making sure the steering arms are in line with the beams as close as practical. You could try using F250 tierod ends too, as these have an offset bend in them. Depending on the lift you built in, consider using a drop pitman arm as well. Keeping the steering as much in the same plane as the beams minimises bump steer and those strange little quirky things TTB does if things aren't quite right. Had some down time so I chipped away some more. Got the cage bolted in and the bump mount in also. The heater hose hard line will be entertaining to move out of the way. Also I picked up a Miller 212 and been having some fun playing with a much nicer machine. Which brings me to the shock mount almost complete. I need to add a drain hole before it goes back under.

Started the steering mock up. I'm thinking I need to paint the tie rods to look like the pvc and add some hose clamps once I make a set.

Steering is looking god. Is that a kit, or all custom?

Hahaha alright I’ll have to do it. It’s mine. A few friends have helped me get the important stuff down with out just giving it to me but it’s all mine so far good or bad. To be honest things started to click once I got the swinger tacked in. It took me 4 tries to get the swinger in, what I believe, the best spot I could manage. As of this point cycling at 12” (short 10” shaft 7” up 4 down im pulling them apart to see if there’s a spacer or I need a longer shaft) and I can’t seem to see any bumpsteer. I’d imagine the pvc is taking it but the spindle isn’t moving.

Okay the swinger is done. Bolts are shanked and oil impregnated bronze bushings are pressed in. Tomorrow will be tube for the tie rods.

Aside from cower when my wife brings it up - no. lol. Is for sale but really would love to keep it. Need to have that discussion again but been avoiding it a bit. Had an offer that would have gotten it out of the yard the next day, but it was low and the truck would have been sold off at an auction after the guy got it done. I don't want that for it. IF it sells I want first right of refusal if the new owner ever sells. Kris at Shockseals.com and I have been talking on it for a while. He wants it. If anyone finishes it aside from me, he would be one that could do it justice. I'd just rather keep it...

Ah you’ll eventually finish it. Its not going anywhere. Just say itll be worth alot more if finished. When you finish it you have to keep working the bugs out of it. Thatll buy you st least 6 months after the fact.
