Your working on the Fodge? Be sure to use protection, that dirty hooker has been around.

Lol yes we do all of Dave's stuff these days. The fodge is hardly the fodge anymore. Only thing left from fodge days is the frame rails we built completely new truck in house for Dave. Ill dig up a pic of her for you.

Yeah, I knew Dave had been spending some money on it. Long gone are the days when it sat in the parking garage till a couple days before the pre-run before he would work on it. I worked on that thing a few times down in Baja, always a good time though.

We finally spent some time on the Bronco over the last month or so. Pretty happy with how it is coming together. Another 25-30 hours and I will be able to drive it hopefully. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in these crazy times.

Does the front axle spin freely drooped out like that? Would expect yokes to bind up and snap if spinning while dropped like that.
We clearanced the heck out of ours and still could not get that much angle out of them.
Now we run an RCV CV joint in the crossover joint.

I am also surprised more people don't make steering swingers like that so we can keep our tie rods straight. huh

Hey Chris. This was before we strapped the front end. We strapped it so it will not have this much droop I just had this pic from moving bronco around shop with forklift to show the CHO beams we installed. Once budget allows I plan to go RCV axles with center cross over joint.

Ya the steering is still Glenn Straightiff (Complete Fabrication now Agile Off-road) design. Glenn set up kept good geometry and has been proven and works great so why fix something that is done and not broken. Passenger tie rod is straight but Driver side required a little kick in it. We did go with the 1.5" .188 wall tie rod set up that we do with our steering.

What is the part number for the RCV axels?

I had to clearance my passenger side diff yoke significantly, I had to cut the axle shaft, and I had to get creative on welding the cap to get full travel. The most deceptive part was you can drop your beams and a welded cap will hold. But if you dropped your beams before you put axles shafts in, then you know your clearance. After you put the shafts in, your clearance is limited dramatically. This is all relative to Cut and Turned beams giving the 4" lift.

Attached is a pic of the rough 1/2" I had to cut off from the axle shaft and comparing it to the factory. After this I now have a spring in the yoke, and yes the yoke axle cap is welded in. I had to grind the yokes a lot to get the clearances since it would bind before hitting full drop. Even then the axle shaft was the limitation so I had to chop the 1/2" off it.
Also attached is what it looks at full droop where you can see the axle shaft blew out well past the yoke pushing the spring out and busting the cap. Regardless, it's the shaft that's took long which is very evident.

After all said and done, no cap busted and I've hit full droop unstrapped several times even in 4x4 :)

FYI RCVs only work for stock beams OR extended Cut&Turn beams. They will NOT fit in stock Cut&Turn beams. I've got a pic of that $1500 question and it sucked cuz I wanted those shafts bad (sure insert joke :D)!

Been a while since I posted anything on the bronco side of things. Got it running and driving again now I keep going back and forth on whether to keep or sell and whether to use or have completely rewired. I think I will finally get it in the dirt again next weekend for a day.

Brandon, looks like you got alot of travel out of the front end, do you run into any axle interference in the passenger beam port when the drivers side is at full bump and the passenger side at full droop and vice versa? I've been having clearance issues with getting mine setup. Thanks
