Hollander's New Bronco

We decided to load up the New Bronco and drive it to Big Bear last weekend. We usually do about 100-150 dirt miles on the fire roads up there and other trails. Learned a lot about the bronco over the weekend. First it runs warm on the freeway at freeway speeds so time to talk to Clint Barry CBR to get this thing cooled down. Second with AC cranking, EFI system running, stereo, and all 5 fans the 200amp alt is not overly stoked so ordering the DC high out put alt and a spare. Other thing is the bronco has always taken a ton of power to start so I put fresh optimas in turned out same thing so ordered a couple Tilton super starters hopefully will install soon as I have time. I also want to turn the exhaust volume down a lot. Any recommendations? Anyways here a pic from the camping trip it was a blast and the new lights at night are killer.

As I'm sure you know the key to quieting down the exhaust is volume...biggest muffler that will fit in the space alloted, another thing you can do is add a race bullet/resonater into the exhaust system, before or after the muffler doesn't necessarily matter

Agree with above.
I have also had good luck with the bigger flowmaster pro-series mufflers at taking off some noise while also not killing the flow. They are very different then typical 40 series. The pro-series are the ones that look like glasspacks, but have the intersecting cones in the middle.

Been awhile since I have updated. It has been a crazy last few months. I got new race truck in August, moved to a new house in Sept, got married in Oct., New lab puppy in November which ended up getting parvo (which was hell on my wife and I but he pulled through after living at the emergency vet for a week and a half) probably should have named him Bronco because he absorbed money like one lol, had to go support a good friend at Baja 1000 (he won and won the championship), moved Hollander Motorsports to new 4000sqft shop in November as well. The shop has been crazy busy putting personal stuff on the back burner. So now that I can breathe a little figured I would update on bronco revamp.

Decided to take the Bronco to Baja to chase and it had an issue with the FAST EFI something about air control at start up but we did not let that stop us. We were chasing having fun then went onto race coarse to get to our broke race car then we found the same rock that broke the race car. Except we found it with the fuel tank. I never saw the rock as it was in the bottom of a big whoop and we were pushing hard due to soft sand with big whoops also it was about mid night ish. Well we pushed fuel tank up about 8" and made the fuel pump really unhappy so had to drop tank right there to have a shot of getting out of this area. It was down a decent little drop into a wash so would have been tough to tow out. We got out then died again so we strapped it for the next 60-70 miles now it is 6am we have all been up for 24hrs and I have to stop to stand up. We stop in front of Percebu and boom suddenly fuel pump is happy so I start it and haul butt back to El Dorado. Moral of the story if you are running stock tank go buy the skid plate from Desolate, Solo, Richer and do the access panel from inside you will thank them cause dropping a tank at midnight in a wash is no fun.

We have still been collecting parts to just have it down once for awhile vs a few times. Ended up buying new autofab bedsides for the bronco because I am not a fan of how they were cut originally and naturally had to pull the trigger and buy autofab tail gate to lighten the rear up some for the 70 gal cell going in and also we are hanging spare off the rear of the bronco when it comes into the shop. We are building beams right now in house that are 1.5" over as well as putting our own twist on them like drain plug ect. I hate gear oil lol.

We also just got shipment of machined parts for our Fabricated Knuckles for our 14" big brake kits. I get people that ask randomly for them so we ordered enough to have in stock for tax season if anyone is interested.

Woah! The good stuff!

I was just at Sandy's last week dropping off the rear diff out of Wilson. He was showing me all the trick stuff he does for Bronco / F150 hubs / uprights... super cool stuff. We might upgrade.

Ya Sandy is a very knowledgeable guy. We just got all new rearend and hubs for the fodge from him. I enjoy calling him and we bounce ideas off each other.

No doubt. I picked up the center section from him today. He’s one of those guys that does things few would even think of... love it.

Got the front end stripped off the bronco. Now it is time to cut old front cage out and redo and add our tube core support. Also stumbled across a deal I could not pass up for a 94 single cab short bed 4x4 with a 5.8l F-150. We will probably build a mild little DD dual sport truck out of it.

I just saw all those lights on the bumper... love it!

I'm thinking about ordering an Autofab tailgate for Wilson... we'll see.

Well after talking with the wife and starting a new career I have decided to keep the bronco until at least Norra 1000 of 2020. We will be racing it in the vintage class or whatever the 20+ year old class is. We have finally started making good progress on it. We added fuel cell, swap bar have to finish the links, and now we have torn into the front end. I really tossed around the idea of stretching it but it defeats the purpose of me having a bronco so stock length it will stay for me. It may end up at off-road expo we will see.

Goodness gracious. This thing is killer. Just the same... you should trade it straight across for a mildly worn green 96 xlt... maybe one on some American Racing wheels that are plastidipped black...
