Barge #3.......... Eventually........
Well, Barge #2 had no soul. It only saw street duty for about 6 Mo's before My lovely CHP long block took a dump. Since I was getting almost 2 years out of My own builds this really irritated Me. So it sat like this for 5 or 6 years.....
Along the way I realized I need a tow vehicle. Broncos suck to tow with. So I bought this!
97 7.3 in decent shape for a really good deal. The service bed is about to fall apart literally. This brings a project about that I have been kicking around for almost 10 years......... The long Bronco!
After looking over how a Centurion was put together years ago I decided that it wouldn't be that hard to replicate with an extra cab. Wheelbase should end up anywhere from 125 to 130 depending on how I cut it. Don't expect any rapid progress on this, I've got 2 other projects that need finishing up before it gets under way. Right now I'm collecting parts for it.
Front is getting the glass from the Bronco.
Will get radius arms and coil-overs in the front.
Rear will get glass, springs, 2.5's and bumps.
Will not be getting caged, this is more of a chase /tow rig that can go retrieve vehicles if needed. Not for running whoops........... Famous last words.......

If I remember right it'll use a d50 TTB and keep the diesel. So I guess it's more of a 3/4 ton than a 1/2 ton.philofab wrote:So is it going to be a 3/4 ton or 1/2?

After PMing back and forth with Brian a little bit today this thing may take a little while to get off the ground. He is in no rush to finish the thing - although I would love to see it completed!BajaBronco13 wrote:What's the ETA on this build. Can't wait to see the chopping started.

Well, the new tranny is in. It actually shifts now without pedaling it. Should be picking up the coil-overs for the front shortly.
Picked up a little something at the swap meet today...........
Edit.... Sorry for not being around recently, My computer decided it didn't want to go on GFB's anymore an it took a small act of God to fix it.

A little birdie sent me some pics via text that make me think you actually started tearing down the extra cab. Is this the case????

Nope, just trying to keep the service bed from completely disintegrating before I get around to cutting the frame.

Because it's still on the Bronco? I just cut it in half.
The chassis is leaving Saturday to a member on here who has a nice little build planned for it.

Ahh, both trucks are white so I figured you had started piecing a cab together.BDKW1 wrote:Because it's still on the Bronco? I just cut it in half.
