Decided if the engine had to come out, I was gonna clean up the engine bay, so I pulled the core support too.

Started cleaning the engine bay, out came the power washer, wire wheels, and spray paint.

Those got placed backwards, but you get the idea.

I'm also deleting factory AC and running a vintage air unit as well as deleting non-essential components to get this thing as simple as possible. Gonna probably get the engine cage bolted in soon too.

Dang that's so clean! My favorite spray paint is rustoleum professional (it's in the silver can) much less fading in the weather/sun than just the regular paint.

I'll have to check that out, I bought a case of this flat black at Home Depot 12 cans for like 30 bucks.

Just dropped $ on a MAF conversion from
fiveology racing. Brian was awesome to deal with customer service wise, highly recommend talking to him if you're a speed density guy considering going MAF. To me the extra $ over junkyard parts was worth the lifetime warranty on all of his products.

Haven't done it yet, you have to basically swap the pcm and re pin 8 wires in the harness, which was easy to completely pull for me because I have the engine and the front end off of my bronco right now. With a little patience it should be pretty easy.

Took the time and when ahead and did the inside of the fenders and the hood, firewall etc. while I was at it. Figured might as well while it was out and it went a long way to improving the look.

Got the engine set back in and everything underneath the truck bolted up. Still working on the wiring but out of town work and the weather when I am actually home has really slowed me down on that. Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel though, can't wait to finally drive this thing.

With the MAF Swap kit I ordered from Fiveology Racing, I got a new injector harness with a few other connectors, so I decided to de-pin and re wrap the old harness to clean up the engine bay and make future diagnostics easier.

Below are the Before/Afters of what the harness looked like without the injectors, O2 Sensor, HVAC, and a few other things that the truck will no longer be needing. I wish that OEM Ford Connectors weren't so expensive I would have replaced all of those as well.

That wire Job looks clean! I been looking into that fiveology kit wondering if its worth the trouble. Do you see that big of a difference?
If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough!

I haven't been able to finish it yet but for
Like $600 and only having to REALLY re pin 12 wires I think it's worth the drivability and increased fuel economy. Plus it responds to engine modifications much better.

gotcha! I mean fuel economy alone will help im getting around 6-8 mpg haha! Ill have to look into it a little more.

haha its horrible! I don't know whats causing it to get such bad MPG but yea I calculated it and im around 6-8. Not fun at all!

Going off on a tangent here so sorry, but Jesus - did you calibrate your speedo when you did the lift & put bigger tires on? If I remember right you fixed a lift that was on there, so you have any clue if the previous owner did? You ever verified your speed on your speedo with a GPS? Reason I am asking is if you are using mileage to calc. your MPG & your odometer is off due to larger tires & not being re calibrated then your MPG could be way off.
