Back half starting to take shape.

I got these renderings done to try and pick a color and decide how I am going to do the body fill. B pillar, C, or factory size window centered. Here are colors with the C pillar option. I was pretty stoked on how these came out.

Man, that is nice up travel in the rear, it looks like it would go all the way through the stock frame (if it was still there...)

Trying to figure out options with the height of the cell and spares. Hoping I can fit them upright but may not work out. Going to cycle everything next week and see where we can mount everything, sway bars, bumps, resi’s. Running out of room quick.

Fab work on the rear basically done. Got the driveshaft built and on and cycled everything. Looks like we could have about 32” but will limit to around 28-29 to not push it. Heads off for sheet metal work next week.
Not enough room for dual upright spares so we will have two oriented this way. Small tool bags and the jack is about all we can fit after that.

Making some more progress. Sheet metal is all done, just need to get it cleaned, sealed, painted and then lay all the dynamat. Mounting seats, AC, and the remote brake setup in the cab and then its off to interior, body and paint. I am now thinking Thanksgiving is a real possibility.
Got the shell back on and I think we kept the stretch just short enough to still look decent. Finger crossed.

Can't wait to see this thing all finished!

I am looking forward to see how the shell looks when the fiberglass is done. I like it the the glass was left the stock size. I also like how you cut the roof and slid it back, it looks like a stronger setup. Keep up the good work.

I am so torn man, that was the original plan but I really like one of the new raptor colors for 2018. Leaning that direction, but I may come back to blue.

Thanks David. I am very curious to see how the overall look is when it’s all done. I too like what they did with the cut and sliding it back. Jesse Winchel had that idea for strength, he is the one who did all the sheet metal work as well. Very happy with his work and input on the shell.

On a side note. I need another radio from you. I’ll give you a call this weekend.

Well this picture right here is what caused this whole build to escalate. I really wanted two seats back there, but there was just not enough room to make it happen without really compromising on the link setup I wanted. So it was an expensive way to learn a small bench is about all you can wedge in the back of a desert style linked bronco.
