Hey Todd!

That section of trail lies within Fish Creek, which is the state park area that can be accessed by Split Mountain Road or the upper desert via S2 and Arroyo Seco Del Diablo.

Fish Creek trailhead is adjacent to the "shooting area" noted on the map. S2 access is near the Agua Caliente Springs side of the map below

Thanks! I went down a hill like that years ago out there and I wasn't sure if that was the same place or not.

My favorite trail is Canyon Sin Nombre to Fish Creek and the drop off into Split mountain. A lot of fun for a night run.

Hey Todd!

Place has sure changed a lot from when I was a kid. I remember it being a pretty tight squeeze for a fullsize. Now, no issue at all.

David, thanks for the heads up; I'll be sure to check out Sin Nombre next time out.

I jetted out for a quick overnighter on Sat- solo trips always bring the value.

About 120 miles of dirt between Sat eve and Sunday. Love this truck more and more each time out.

Free carwash on the way out through Julian- nothing like dropping into the desert and the sunshine that awaits:

I took a different route in via S2 and the Mud Caves turn off. From there I took Arroyo Seco Del Diablo to Diablo Drop Off and came into my usual spot in Fish Creek from the other direction.

Always a great view:

Found a new spot. Learn something new every trip

Not snow......

Tons of water out there- the oasis has grown; gotta be a mile long

Look at the size of this washout- right in the middle of the trail; Gnarly!
