Had a couple fun runs out to the desert this winter; truck continues to impress






new lights make the night much more fun....



and airing back up without a headlamp is pretty cool..

Had been patiently waiting to finally tackle the last big ticket item; interior!

Was this the old shock mount?

What length did you end up going with for the 3” bypasses and are you glad you went with the welded ends for the bottom?

Yo Aaron! Gracias amigo; it's been long overdue. Stoked to see some updates on yours soon.

E brake is a vestige from the days of the 8.8". The floater I picked up didn't have provisions for an e brake so i left that there for a rainy day in case I convert to a system for the parking brake.
Can't say those discs have ever grabbed like the drums did, despite proportioning valve additions... maybe I'll reinvent that wheel some day and have my parking brake too.

Really wish someone would fab a driveline ebrake for our rigs like I've seen Marlin makes for yotas.

Hey Jay, the mount was actually from a single link trac bar I used to run from SWP. It was heimed on both ends and ended up taking out a crossmember on the fore side of the connection at some point.

Went away from that to the AutoFab two link, which use bushings and are more forgiving, and symmetrical

and re: the welded ends; I trusted my man Jonny at Richer Racing to make that call- they are working really well so far.

I will note that I wish they would STFU, the chatter is obnoxious. Anyone have ideas for me?

I haven't really done anything to dial them in, and half the reason I 'upgraded' to King was their willingness to tune rigs that run their stuff on all 4 corners.
looks like it's gonna be a few months or more until I can get that lined up.

Truth be told; I am glad I ratholed my 9100 bypasses away bc I never heard a peep from them and may consider going back at some point.

From start to finish, the goal has been streetable, civilized and well mannered; hope I can smooth over the last rough edge a bit.

king will always make noise, it has to do with the tapet design being flat. the prerunner series have a plastic one to make them quieter than the metal race ones. have someone cut off the king tubes and put on some fox ones in an overlapping layout. they flow better, have a tapered tappet that is quiet (the big tubes are loud, but you dont need those)

For sure king race bypass are loader then other brands.

Mobil and Willie, thanks for the input. I had heard of some of these characteristics and others had said go for it.

It's not a huge deal and the new interior is masking a lot of the chatter. Stereo takes care of the rest for now I suppose
