Thanks for the feedback! I'm really happy with how it looks with the new glass!

I'll be heading over the pond for a deployment soon so there wont be any progress for awhile. But, hopefully when I get back there will be a pile of goodies waiting for me.

I already have these waiting to go on;
-Deaver Leafs
-Camburg +1.5" Shackles
-King Bump stops
-AutoFab 2-link kit
-Factory Shackle hangers (currently has shackle flip)
-Manual Valve body/Kilduff shifter

And hopefully I will have most of these when I get home;
-New welder/notcher
-king/fox coilovers for up front
-King/fox bumps
-Artec rear axle truss
-King/Fox Bypass shocks

When I get back building the Cage and suspension is going to be the big priority.

My deployment is finally coming to an end, so that means it's finally time to start ordering some parts!

Here's what I've ordered thus far:

Pro-Tools HD105 tube bender w/ degree ring
1" & 2" dies
Baileigh TN-250 tube notcher
Miller 252 Mig welder
Bendtech-Pro
1000CFM Holley currently being built by C&J engineering
1/2"-2" dimple dies

I've seen most running 14-16" coilovers up front it seams like. However I don't want to order them now and end up with too long/short of a shock and screw myself. When I get back home i'll cycle my suspension to get some travel measurements and order them. Besides travel #'s here's what I plan on ordering suspension-wise
(4) 3.0x(?) King Triple bypasses
(2) 2.5x(?) King coilovers
(4) 2.5x4 King hydraulic bump stops

I think I've found a local source for some DOM tubing, so hopefully I can start in on the cage pretty quickly after getting back.

To me the TN-250 is great for placing notches in the bend or placing deep notches in the tubing. My tn-250 actually broke twice and I ended up repairing just to keep using it. The second issue is the repeatability of a notch. I don't care how great of a fab guy anyone is-- you eventually make something too short or long, and you also need to make multiples of something. This notcher in my mind is just not easy to make repeat notches via a centerline measurement. Anyway its just my thoughts. Buy a JMR or one of the JMR knockoffs.

I am not a big fan of hole saw notchers. I have had a couple.
I tend to use my plasma cutter for quick stuff.
But one of these days I want a big belt grinder notcher.

Don't get me wrong, lathe is on my list of tool that I want but it's definitely not an alternative to a hole saw notcher. Belt sanders and lathe are much more expensive. I built my whole truck with a standard JD squared hole saw notch. I have repeated notches several hundreds of times. The biggest limiting factor is the max angle allowed, that's when the grinder comes out.

I agree whole heartedly with this. I have built a lot with the basic JD2 and pro tools nothcers. I have a JD2 notchmaster now that I got since I cam across a "used" one for a steal. While belt notchers and the mill/lathe setup are sweet (and on my wish list too), they are out of most people's budget or space limitations.

Yup. At this point almost wish I kept it for space reasons, but I went to a full size mill for a bit & a decent sized lathe. I'm back to a small mill (bigger than the one you have, but not full size), but still have a decent lathe. It's just tight in the garage & neither see much use.
I have a bunch of the roughing mills here to make the notcher setup, but just never took the time as my hole saw notchers had been doing pretty much anything I'd ask of them so I was lazy.

I agree a lathe would be ideal, however like they said, space and cost rule it out as an option for now. We'll see how the TN-250 treats me.

Well, I made it home! Not a whole lot of updates though, been busy getting life started again stateside. Unfortunately a lot of my Bronco savings $$$ got turned into a down payment on an ecoboost F150 for my wife... funny how that happens :lol: But, a happy wife means I get to spend more guilt-free time in the shop! So, it may take a little longer to get ALL of my suspension components ordered. But, that gives me plenty of time to get some practice in with my new bender/welder etc.
