Yeti Jr.

Post by yikes »

Picked up another ride for my son. He can't wait to get behind the wheel. Will have his license in January. Anyway, it's a '92. It has a lot of miles, but it's been taken care of. The Bronco belonged to my brother in law and is the reason I own mine. He bought it in 1998. Totally stoked that my son will be driving it. It's got new wheels and recent tires, a shift kit, Mac headers, MSD ignition, leveling kit and a super duper old school pushbar. Woohoooo! 'Merica!

Congratz, Jose!

Now ask your dad why he sold his bender before building you some cool bumpers.

Very nice to have a father/son project prior to the "license".

Your gas credit card right?

One of the worst things I ever did was trade my 88 Suburban for a Nissan hard body to save on gas. Sure it was more gas but I could take 9 people anywhere.

I remember buying $3 in gas with quarter, nickels, and dimes so I could make it to school. Fuel was less than a dollar then.

I paid for the truck (parents loaned me some as I didn't have enough for anything reliable), gas and insurance. Paid the parents $50 a month til graduation & they dropped the rest of the payments (about $1500 left on it I think) as a graduation present. Hated paying for all of that at the time but it taught me a bit about responsibility with $ for sure. I appreciate it now.

And I'm glad gas was about $0.99/gal back then. Made it actually possible to pay for all of the above on minimum wage. I used to pull $20 out of my paycheck each week, fill up the truck & use the change to buy lunch at school a time or 2 each week!

We put a new starter in it and a new K&N this weekend. Then got back to work on buffin out the old paint. I'm totally amazed how well it's glossing up. Not sure what we'll do at the front where the paint has come off. We'll figure something out, but this one sure won't get a paint job before mine. Haha!
