Cool idea on the brake light! And that seat mounts looks pretty dang good for not being a fabricator.

Thanks, desk jockey by day at 4WP. I have some fab tools but I haven't welded or anything in years.

Took a run to JV to test out the Pro Comp 40’s. Everything went great with the exception of a bearing growl coming out of the 9”. Time to pull it down and freshen it up.

I have a few questions for the Bronco Masters.

1. What coolant is the best for this application?
2. What gear oil do you guys prefer and why?
3. Any suggestions on spring rates for rear shocks? It feels stiff in the rear and bucks like crazy.

do you want to deal with the shocks yourself or do you want a recommendation on someone who can get you fixed up?

too many variables especially since you are linked to the axle. typically in my experience if the rear is 'bucking' you dont have enough compression and potentially too much rebound.

spring rate is simple. keep it to 2-3" of pre load in the rear, 1-2'' in the front, with a 100-150 spring rate split.

If synthetic I used royal purple 75w140. Since I have a truetrac now it requires non synthetic and am using 75w140 lucas in the rear.

All things fun must come to an end. I had it dialed but now the transmission wants to take a break. While in JV I noticed it sounded like it was whining, almost like a power steering pump. I checked the fluid twice and it looked fine. I left JV and it seemed to be lugging along. Once I got up to speed it was fine. The shifts from gear to gear seemed longer than normal and slower to engage. I didn't think much of it. I got home and parked it. Yesterday I decided to pick up breakfast for the fam. I fired it up and the whining was still present. But now it was acting odd, if I let the trans pick the shift points automatically it did awful. I was having to bump the gas to get it to shift. So I started to shift it myself but it was very slow to shift between gears. I slowed to make a turn and it stayed in 3rd and would not downshift by itself. When I pulled into my driveway it died and will not idle in gear. Its acting like the torque converter locked up.

Any ideas from the masters?

make sure the adjustment at the linkage point on the tranny is putting the tranny into the correct gear. I would also plug into the USSHIFT and see what it is doing.

MLPS RANGE SENSOR NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH is what you are checking

I will do that. I have not pulled the console yet to access the controller. On a separate note, do you know what filter this is?
