The Beast
My wife has dubbed my Bronco, "The Beast".
Here is before I built the bumpers.
So anyway, here is my story. I had a 97 f-150 4x4, off road package, I put rancho shocks and pro comp mt's on it and a bumper with some kc's. It was a fun truck. I hammered it in the desert. Until one day recently, when I grenaded the motor, and didn't want to spent the money to fix it. I sold the f-150 with blown 5.4 for 800 bucks. I thought about it for a while, and was thinking about getting a 2wd f-150 and prerunnering it.
But after some thought I decided I needed a 4x4, and I wanted something tough and fast in the desert. My dad has a 95 bronco, stock, it is white and we always called it the Juice. I hammered it in the desert a couple of times, and I could tell it had potential.
I found this 95, the guy said the tranny was slipping and it needed a fuel pump. He was asking 950, I offered 800 and he took it.
I was able to get the beast started, limped it home, and started to work. It turns out that most of the problems were that the MAP sensor was unplugged, and the headlights weren't grounded.
So I went through everything, and changed all the hoses, and fluids, new belt, tires balanced.
I removed the sway bars.
I removed the bumpers.
I removed the running boards, and exhaust.
It came with a 4" lift of unknown origin, it had blown rancho shocks, and it has stock radius arms. I got a set of bilstien 5100s all the way around just to get it driveable..
Gutted the front cat, removed the rear, and slapped on a 3" magnaflow.
Bumped the timing to 13.5
running 87 octane.
It came with some stupid looking wheels, I painted them black. In fact I rattle canned the whole thing flat black, because I am just going to scratch it up anyway.
Running 33 12.50 15's bfg at's.
Anyway my goal is cut an turned ttb, coil overs, bypasses and deavers in the back, trussed 8.8 with 4.56 rears and 35" tires, cage, Im running the stock E4OD. I also want to build a hot rod motor for it.
Cash is tight, so I may take me a while to get this thing all the way done.
I am a noob for sure on all this stuff. I have learned much from you all so far, and I will post more updates and pics as I proceed with this beastly build.

Thanks! It has been a lot of fun working on it. I think my wife is starting to get annoyed with this project, lol.

Re: The Beast
I have great news!!
I just got an 88 f-250 4x4 that has a 414w, c6, and 208 t-case!
Motor is fully built, c-6 is fresh.
It has world products heads, probe forged pistons, I-beam rods, it has a small cam .476 lift, it has a holley 750 vacuum secondaries, dual plane, msd billet dizzy msd ignition. 10.3 to 1 compression, has it tuned for 91 octane. NIce radiator, it has longtube headers, i don't know if that is going to work out.
So anyway now all I have to do is pull the goodies out of the f-250 pull the motor and tranny and I guess t-case out of the bronc, and swapola I'm done lol.
SO I have a few questions for you all...
Can I use the np208 t-case and c-6 and keep my driveshafts?
Should I just pull the motor out of the bronc, and drop in the 414, and run the e4od?
Can I run the 414 and c-6 with my t-case? 1356 I believe?

Re: The Beast
Ok, after some research, I am going with the c-6 bw1356 combo.
I was planning on doing the suspension first, but I couldn't pass up the deal on this motor/tranny. The guy I got it from had a build file with the motor, he put over 9K into it! He fired it up for me before I got it, it sounds mean as hell. Idles real nice, it has instant throttle response.
The motor has a nice mild cam, and the tranny has stock converter, so it will be perfect for off road. It hasn't been dyno'd but his estimate is 450+ ft lbs.
I'm wondering how long my 8.8 will survive under those conditions.

Re: The Beast
Great news, I almost have the money to order the Threat kit.
Then I will need deavers,
Rear shock mount, Rear shocks
Im going with 2.5" 14" kings in the front, I was thinking 350 over 500 springs, unless you all have a better idea,
and probably some king 12" 2 tube bypasses in the back.
The plan is, leave her alone till I get the new motor in and, then do the interior and cage, and then suspension.

Re: The Beast
Im in the process of putting the rear suspension together. Call solo motorsports and get the adapter kit for the q80's so you dont have to cut the body and get the spacers for the front hanger.
