From what I've researched, the lightning intake is going to be better top-end whereas the Edelbrock has a longer runners so that's going to be better in low end.
I feel like it's a bad habit of Bronco guys looking at Mustang builds as a point of reference cuz they're built more often. A 2500 lb car. vs a 5000 pound truck warrants a different motor build.
If it were me if the lightning motor checks out in good shape I put the Edelbrock intake on that, drop that in.

This came out of a truck with 160k on it, I rebuilt my motor maybe 4-5,000 miles ago.
I’m thinking maybe E303 cam, use the Lightning’s gt40 heads, Edelbrock intake and sell the rest. So basically just use the gt40 heads from the lightning. My buddy wants the intake and my father in law wants the bottom end

Links look good! You just need some other slacker to get his project out of the shop so you can get in!

Yes I sure am!
Johns truck is so badass, this whole stretch has hit my pocket hard so it will be a long time before I get to do a motor and interior but one day I’ll get it to where johns truck is.

Some awesome progress with most of the work being done in the last 7 days haha. Vik is doing awesome, once he gets the lower links mocked up and gets a length on the upper links I’m making them out of 1.625x.250 4130 and then I’ll make a trip out to drop them off and see the truck
