motoxscott's multi year bronco project ...

Post by motoxscott »

Well I've started to work on my bronco project again .. if you're not familiar with it I've been building it since 2007 at different stages and it hasn't left the shop since summer 2008.

Here's a very detailed build thread on it, but I figured I would start one on here since most have moved over here. If you have free time, you can go read the 19 pages of updates haha. The short story is .... '95 bronco gutted, race truck parts, 408 engine, still not done.

http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/sho ... p?t=105377

Here's my latest updates .....

A few months back started the tube work firewall forward and setup all the shock mounts. A ton of time cycling the suspension and getting the mounting positions perfect for both sides to match.

Had to come up with a new mount for the LEE trophy truck power steering pump since one doesn't exist.
Image

Last weekend ..... Front tube work is welded in and I made a removable cross tube and strut bar structure so the engine can be pulled out without cutting tubes out in the way.

Good to see some progress on this thing again.

Funny - I got an email saying there was a post in the thread for this on DR. I was thinking it was most likely another "any progress???" type post, but now I know it's not & will have to go look!

Awesome! Followed the original thread almost from the beginning, but lost track of it over the last couple years. Glad to see you found your way over here and decided to post up!

Last time I saw this I think I remember seeing it on 39s!! That thing is insanely awesome!! I probably spent at least a half our drooling over it last time I was there. Glad to see more work getting done on it.

Thanks for support haha

Worked on it today some more. Made the sheet metal plates for the a-pilars, just need to weld them in, but since I can't TIG weld I gotta wait till after the Mint for jason to weld them in for me. Also added a couple tubes to the bumper/engine cage to tie everything in more. Back at it tomorrow hopefully.

Made some progress today .... mounted up the original core, supports and headlight/grill so I can start mounting the radiator, coolers and build the tube structure to hold the headlight panel, etc.

Used some flat strap to hold the headlight/grill panel exactly in place so I could remove the factory core and supports. Now time to mount the radiator and build a tube structure to mount coolers and the headlight/grill panel.

Progress is being made one step at a time haha ...

Haven't posted pics here lately, mostly on instagram so all my friends know why I haven't been around and live at the shop haha. Just finishing up the radiator and cooler mounting, then I can finish up a few tubes here and there to help support the grill/headlight panel and front fenders.
