Also picked up some shocks for a good price locally. Now to sort through these and decide what I want to use and what I will sell off.

Re: Project Double Trouble/Drew's Bronco
Yeah i have not decided what to do with all these shocks now. having too many options is a bad thing.93Broncobuff wrote:if you sell 14" c/o's id be down.
option 1: stay along original path and put my 2.5 x 12 triples out back with deavers and just add the 2.5 x 16 bypasses up front with my 2.5 x 14 CO's.
option 2: use the 2.0 x 14 CO's and 2.5 x 16 bypasses out back in a traditional style link setup and use the 2.5 x 12 bypasses up front with my 2.5 x 14 CO's.
option 3: use short 2.0 x 9 bypasses and 2.0 x 9 CO's out back in a cantilever style link setup (like otters truck) and throw 2.5 bypasses up front with my 2.5 x 14 CO's.
Decisions Decisions.

I vote for Option 1. You already have the leafs and everything to get it going. Run it with leafs and see if you like it. Might be fine. The only reason I went with my setup was the cost of shipping, not a big fan of throwing away build money on shipping. Run the first option get it in the dirt and tuned and decide from there. That's my 2 cents.

Yeah I'm going with option 1. But will prolly be keeping 2.0 x 14 coilovers for future considerations(links)Rmc wrote:Follow your heart ...... Er I mean follow your wallet lol

It's about time you work on this thing! Maybe I will be back from Hawaii for it's maiden voyage. In 3 years.

it should have all the kinks worked out by then. If I still have it. Appears that anyone north of Fresno only build a truck to use once and sell. Or wait is that only you. Lolotter wrote:It's about time you work on this thing! Maybe I will be back from Hawaii for it's maiden voyage. In 3 years.

Re: Project Double Trouble/Drew's Bronco
So I have been toying around with running the bronco without the passenger axle installed unless I am running some sort of trail in the mtns. I have a bolt in axle third member that I can make a block off plate for the passenger axle and run a locker up front. Has anyone tries this? It keep rattling around in my brain. With the passenger axle installed I am getting 15.5 inches of clean travel from suspension. With out the passenger axle I am getting 20" of travel. Seems like it would be nice to have extra 5" of travel for desert. Idk I could be totally missing something here seems logically sound.

So I was not happy with how the engine cage was tying into the cab cage so I started cutting things up and reworking everything

I have done a couple engine cages and one thing that I have always done is to keep the cage semetricle on both sides where the upper shock mounts are. It also keeps the stress of the frame twisting even from side to side where the engine cage attaches to the main cage. I was wondering what the reason was for the driver's side upper tube bend before going into the firewall? I am not saying it is wrong, just wondering the thought process behind it?
