Re: Project Double Trouble/Drew's Bronco
Caster will be up to your preference, but your numbers sound like what I've heard others run, IMO they sound similar to what I'd run.
Geoff at GIANT does something like 14-16* for a dirt only truck I think.
More caster is good because it'll return the wheels to straight ahead/center, but get too much and you'll be fighting the truck to make it turn.

I just needed some affirmation in the caster area. No a ton of forward progress on this thing, but it is sitting on its own weight.... i buttoned it up as a roller Saturday to get ready to move everything over to new shop. WOOOOOOOOOO..... NOT. hehe just some extra plating on beams to do and build engine cage to get this thing driving again. i will post some picks of stance when i get to shop on thursday this week. Hopefully i can pick up everything i want at the swap meet for what little monies i have to spend.

So things have been a Little slower around here bronco wise. She is sitting on her own weight. Throw together for a shop move. My time has been taken up by my newest addition though. Say hello to Ruby the ridgeback!

Yeah we fell in love with the breed. We have been on the search for ridgeback puppy for about 6 months. Found this liter at a adoption agency. Had to drive 3 hours to pick her upRyanDS650X wrote:I love ridgebacks, grandpa had a few over the years when i was a kid and i plan on having my own also. Congrats!

Re: Project Double Trouble/Drew's Bronco
So since i haven't had time to physically work on bronco lately. i have been thinking ahead to my steering. here is what i have been thinking for steering. So everything i have read about steering is you want your pivot point on your steering the same as your beam and or a-arm. so with that in mind and not trying to get too complicated i thought this up. its still a single swinger but moving the passenger tie rod down inline with its pivot. i think the only downfall to this would be the stress put on swinger tube, which i have been thinking about running a thick wall square tube instead of round for the swinger cross piece as i believe it would hold up stronger to the liner load and be less prone to bending. Am i crazy?

Re: Project Double Trouble/Drew's Bronco
I'm pretty sure Newline or SI motorsports ( cant remember which truck I saw it on white 4x4 F150 I think) was doing the swing set steering the same way as the white tie rod. worked well.
