94 Raptor killer

Post by cs_drums »

Im a few months out from the 2 year mark on my build and I dont have a thread on my favorite bronco site. Here is the run down-

94 5.8 Eddie Baure, E4OD w/ punisher valve body , CBR cooler
2" DOM cage, solid body mounts w/ 1/2" body drop
PRP buckets, 42" bench, crow harnesses
35" BFG KM2, Outlaw 2 machined for 5/8 lugs
McNeil dash & bedsides, fiberwerx fenders
Dirt tech 9" w/ 4.88, MW spool, 35 spline currie axles, homemade disc brake setup
Giant Motorsports 64" kit w/ 3.0 Link killer King bypasses,
Billet 4.5" over Dana 44 beams w/ King 2.5 C/O & 2.5 bumps
Single swing steering

Hoping to have it ready enough for its maden voyage by Nov. (2 year mark)
The info on this forum has been a huge help. Thank to all! Constructive criticism always appreciated.

I hear that! That's why mine has stalled over the last couple years. Glad you finally posted your build. It's coming out really nice. Can't wait to see it finished. Nice pitman!

Yeah the engine cage goes through the fire wall and attaches at the a-pillar tube and dash tube junction as well as the windshield-A dash tube juction. If that makes sense.

I forgot to give credit above to my buddy Jeff (formally Function First Fabrication, F3) who has helped with just about every square inch of this thing. Ill admit it, he is much more capable of putting our ideas into reality. He also lays the quality beads 90% of the time, but Im getting much better. This is the 3rd bronco he has built and we have tried to pull out all the stops (that my humble budget can take).

Some progress today-

Did some more paneling

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good coating for the inner bedsides to bring the noise down? Anyone used the Rustoleum Pro grade undercoating in the spray can? Thanks

Last week the show Trucks on Spike used a product called Lizard Skin that has ceramic in it to reduce both noise and heat. Might be worth looking into.

Lizard skin has 2 different deal - 1 for sound & 1 for heat. They can both be sprayed on or 1 or the other. My guess is you wouldn't need the heat one in this application.

Also any spray on beadliner stuff like Line-X is pretty dense & usually helps with sound.
