Are none of you married? I got a wife who takes care of the kids. Frees up a bunch of time.

Looks good by the way. Can't wait to see how you finish it up.

I'm married. wife works longer hours than I do.

Plus spending time with the kid while she's young is important to me.

:D I guess I should start using the smiley face things. My humor goes over even worse on the internet than it does in person. :D

Smileys do bring out the sarcasm levels. And I get it now. Wasn't gonna say anything earlier but I was thinkin "huh. I guess some guys have a lot lore dedication than I do! Plus more, uh "mellow" wives." I'd definitely be hearing it if I disappeared to the garage & didn't help with the kid. Although sometimes I kinda wish I could as I really need to get something done!

Just wait. The older they get the less time you get. My 7 year old son keeps me on my toes and his 5 year old sister does what brother does. I ended up putting a lock on my garage door to the house on the garage side so I can keep em out when welding, grinding, cutting etc. Gonna teach my son and daughter fractions and tools this summer, so they can at least hand me tools.

Having an easy backup makes it easier to have that long-term project....

I photoshopped that idea & it just didn't look right. For me, this is the best bang for my buck. I've always loved Damen Jefferie's Bronco, but I never wanted to dive into the sheet metal work. Fiberglass is kind of my thing.

I can totally respect this! It has always driven me nuts when not only do some people try to steal ideas, but they persist on asking fabricators to share secrets, which have taken them a long time to perfect.

Stretched Broncos are still like unicorns in the offroad world. Its extremely difficult and should only be taken on by master fabricators with 30+ years of experience. Everything must be 4130, tig welded, heat treated, and coated with unobtanium!

I guess its time to give up and get a Prius. I didn't know how to weld when I started my bronco. I'm a Computer guy! I couldn't possibly build this thing by myself. :-)

Good job. As long as you're ready for Huckfest there will be no problem.

Nice work so far, I like your direction with the top. I'm stoked to see where you go from here.

I was wondering if anybody ever stretched a top and centered the stock glass. Basically adding a little to the front and back. It would be a bunch of work, for sure, but it's only fiberglass, right?

As for the kids, they only stay little for a short time, enjoy it while you can. When they get a little older it's easier to get some time to yourself. I found I have to make time by cutting something from MY time or reminding/shaming myself to get stuff done. I figure if I can watch a game on TV, I could be in the garage. Or instead of being on the internet...DAMN! I'm doing it again...I'm going out to the garage.
