Slappy Style Go Fast with Dana 44/50 hybrid beams....

Post by cs_drums »

Tits!!!

I need to get mine painted.
Most of all cause the let down of non-off-roaders that hear all about my prized possession just to see what looks like a junker.

Eh, I always considered crap paint a bit of a theft deterrent. Someone who knows what it is will take in no matter what the paint, but flashy paint jobs draw more attention from everyone in general. At least that's how I keep myself from spending $$ on paint - haha.

Steve you are 100% right. I was just past the point of lets keep this quit or stealth so, I picked a color that would not stand out crazy along with paint matching the wheels dark to kinda stay true to the don't stand out.

The problem with fiberglass and wide front rear prerun look you may stand out anyhow.

I get what you are saying tho the black bronco had black fiberglass no paint looked fine so I kept it that way...and made it easy to not spend the money.....hah

I am just saying even if you rattle can it one color it makes a difference in appearance.....staying within our justification of it fine save me some $$$$ hah

on the flip side if you want it to stand out....pick bright colors and even 2-3 colors ...just saying

I totally agree that paint can make or break a car/truck. Good paint can make a turd look rad! I'm just usually out of $$ way before the paint level of a project so I have to talk myself into other things instead. Kind of the "chrome don't get you home" mantra. Paint does look good though! Oh and I'm jealous of this thing. I REALLY need to freeze time for everyone but me & be able to have some wrench time!

Paint is over rated. When I put new doors on the Barge, I painted them with semi-gloss so that they would match the condition of the rest of the paint..........

The only time I ever got hassled in that truck, I was doing something really stupid and deserved it.

not being done....is a projects worst enemy in tons of ways.....

for me I came up on a deal that I could not pass up..... top end of the motor has changed on my build and this will change a few other things.

do I need more HP NO. so it probably not worth the cost.......but I did it anyhow.

I am working out the details now. More to come.
