APEMFB's Air Force One aka The Silver Bullet
What can I say? I'm addicted to buying and selling 1980-1986 Broncos. While searching Craigslist earlier this year I came across a 1986, I went and took a look and a test drive and thought hmmm I may buy it. Seller was asking more then I was willing to pay so I passed on the truck. A couple of months later the seller contacted me and we struck a deal.
What's the plan for this ride you ask? Here is my game plan:
FRONT SUSPENSION
Southwest Performance Cut and Turn Beams with uniballs
Southwest Performance Radius Arms with uniballs
Southwest Performance Bolt On Shock Towers with engine crossmember
2.5 x 12" King Coilovers
2.0 x 2" travel King shorty bumps
Limit straps
REAR SUSPENSION
Deaver F53
Southwest Performance shackles
Southwest Performance 2 link
Southwest Performance rear shock mount
2.5 x 12" King smoothies with remote resis
2.0 x 2" travel King shorty bumps
Limit straps
DRIVE TRAIN PROTECTION
45 Gallon Northwest fuel tank
DRIVE LINE
Autofab Motor Mounts
Autofab Transmission Mount
4:56 Yukon Gears Front and Back
Rebuilt Factory Limited Slip
EXTERNAL WORK
Autofab drop center hood
Autofab fenders OEM style
Front light bar with five 6" KC lights mounted on oem bumper
Rear Amber LED lights flush mounted onto rear tailgate
Fabricated mirrors
INTERIOR WORK
2 Beard T1 high backs seats
1 Beard T1 low back seat
1 Twisted Stitch high back kid's seat to swap in rear for when I take my nephew Matt out
Rugged Race Radio Intercom with Kenwood 110w race radio
Lowrance Baja 540C GPS
Even though this truck will have lots of work done the ultimate goal is to make it look as much of a sleeper as possible and keep the beauty of the 1980-1986 body lines.

Once it was in possession I started the basic maintenance of oil changing, tune up and brakes.
After a few weeks I ended up picking up a used seat of Rough Country 2" lift springs and Doestch shocks.
Once I had the 2" lift install and enjoyed taking it out to the MORE race to support Kaveman Racing.

Now the build begins. Off to Southwest Performance for what I originally thought was cut and turn beams, radius arms running 4" Pro Comp Springs and 5100 Bilsteins. It was not to be. See intro above.

I removed the stock hood as I had packed the Autofab drop center hood in the back of the Bronco for Mark to install it on my Bronco.

The 3rd rear seat will be swapped out when I take my god son Matt out for some fun in the dirt with his nino Chris.
Matt's seat.
I tried this seat out at McKenzies and knew I had to order a set of Beard T1. So I should have within the next two weeks 2 high back seats and 1 low back.

Nope not yet. I dragged my heels on getting my King shocks since I went on vacation to London and Paris but now I'm home and this project is going to be on the fast track.

Saw your truck over at Southwest getting worked on, I think you will be very happy with the results.

Thanks Damon. Mark does great work so I'm sure I'll be happy. Other then what's already been built I'm really looking forward to the rear interior rack set up. We are planning something really cool.damon1272 wrote:Saw your truck over at Southwest getting worked on, I think you will be very happy with the results.
