No, it was a vegas trip first and formost (what happens in vegas, stays in vegas), and no one really snapped any pictures.economig wrote:Are you gonna do a full trip pictorial like the last one? ?

Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
Sorry I am total slacker on this thread. Been getting the truck ready for this weekend's trip. It's a memorial trip for my fallen friend.
Anyways some stuff I have been working on.
Replaced the leaky water pump. it took 4+ gallons of water to get me home from Barstow.
Full prep.
messing with my new 9/16-18 lug nuts one night at 2am.
This pic is next to my current 5/8 lug nuts
Hand tapped, not the best but it is what it is.
Got one wheel worth of lug nuts done
It's a rear wheel. I am gonna put some miles on it to see if it holds up. Worst case, I have a bunch of extra old style lugs in the truck
got creative with the old visors, cause i was sick of having to use my right hand to shield the sun while driving.
All loaded up, RC crawler and all
Outside cooler location. I have three coolers in this thing now!
Oh and last night at midnight I was board so I pulled the grill and starting swiss cheesing the core support to get more air to the tranny cooler as it still runs at 240 or so.
That's it for now.

Yes, 60 degree if I am not mistaken.philofab wrote:Are those lug nuts the same taper?
They are just a standard Dorman lug nut purchased in bulk for less then a buck a piece.

Hey Mike,
That is an absolutely great photo! Love the background... love the drooped suspension, it's all very nicely done! Great packing job too!

Man I suck at keeping this thread updated. Let's get this thread back up to speed.
Few more key pictures of the Mojave Road trip we did.
The price of gas at the last call station before you head into the thunderdome
Water crossing was pretty weak this year again
Taking a leak in the AM, Elliott had the spy lens on and shot me!
Sand wash
Dry lake bed that wasn't so dry
taking a break why I dump fuel from the jerry cans
lava tubes
Bugs bunny got turned to stone, petrified rabbit
doing the bernie at the lava teepee
view while we ate lunch
on our way out from lunch, creepy old quarry
long exposure at camp #2
missing shifter makes for some interesting packing...
Scott's attempt, he said he was too loaded down to go big... I call BS
getting tippy though the josua tree forest
all at the school bus
RIP buddy!
She's got more off road miles then most of the boys, watch out!
abandoned mine shaft
up and over a ridge to go check out the kelso sand dunes
thumbs up from mikey (yes i am talking in a third person lol)
KW get's a helicopter ride
camp number three (some sand wash because the kelso sand dunes are closed for offroaders, it's cool though, there were like two cars with hikers there...
look who we found just chilling out
excessive drinking, yelling, wood burning, and shenanigans
Mike
