I am doing the same swap on mine. Just need to collect a few more parts. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Transfer case and drive line sent to Oxnard! Maybe the illustrious Maxwell Yoder can get them for you?

Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
Ok, the holidays are over and work is starting to become tolerable. Got lots of work done last night. Huge thanks to my two friends Elliott and Jesse helping me get the C6 and everything relating to it out of the way. I Couldn't have done it without them.
Let me tell you something, taking a transmission out without removing the crossmember is a huge pain the butt, but everything it out besides the center console.
I am going to order up the last of the parts right now and hopefully finish up with the disassemble tonight and start installing everything.

And if I find the time install my new third seat.

Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
Still plugging away. Lots done since I last posted, but it's all filthy mechanic type stuff, and I don't want to touch my phone and get it all dirty.
pedals are hung (PITA), dash needed trimming and a hammer to get that sucker in
wiring is all cleaned up under the dash
steering column is back in and a custom bracket is being build to bolt up to the newer pedal assembly
firewall and been cut and drilled for the clutch master cylinder
flywheel is on
pressure plate and clutch are on, clutch is aligned
automatic transmission dust shield between the motor and transmission was modified to be used with the manual (I hope it worked right)
Tonight's plan
install the new clutch slave cylinder
get the new transmission and new transfer case in and figure out if the transmission crossmember needs some tweaking
get the new front driveshaft installed
get the new starter in
fabricate the steering column bracket
That's in for now. I'll try and take some pictures tonight if my hands don't freeze off!

Those pedals should have been correct... I have only seen two styles, steel and Aluminum. The ones I gave you were different than my 93 so they should have been the 80-86 style.
I searched through all my stuff for the block plate... I have no idea where it went.

It's no big deal I think I got it covered Philo.
As for the column i might just need a different lower plate that bolt to the column. Since I don't have one, I am just going to build my own. No biggie!
That plate, I think the auto trans one with a little fitting should work.

Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
More progress. If I wasn't going away this weekend I could probably have it all buttoned up minus the driveshaft (it needs to be shortened)
In this pictures you can see the new transmission and also see the transmission cross member had to be moved back for the longer transmission.
New transfer case and broken exhaust from Thanksgiving weekend
And finally the money shot.

Nice! I wonder how much different it will be rowing through the gears especially for off road driving.

What did you have to do to the block plate to make it work? I have everything for my swap but that.

Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
Rear end is back together.
Went from a stock 9" rear end, with an open diff and 4.56's to some new (to me ) Currie 35 spline axles, and a new (this time it really is new) Strange Nodular case, Yukon Grizzly locker, Daytona pinion support, new 4.56's, basically a bad ass new diff!!!
Hard to tell in this pic but there is a lot of water in there. I am guessing it's from the Mojave Road water crossing I charged!!!
All that is left is filling the trans (ordered up some Redline MTL), figuring out a vent tube for the new t-case, 4x4 light wiring, fix my tach wiring (can you tell I hate wiring), fix my fender mounts (three out of the four are broke), and get my rear drive shaft back from Drive Shaft Specialists out in Azuza Saturday AM.
I hope to be driving it by the end of the weekend! Excited!!!!
After that, full prep and get it dialed for some KOH prerunning/spectating.

Sorry for not responding earlier. I viewed your response on my phone and forgot to answer it later.Agui-E7TE wrote:Nice! I wonder how much different it will be rowing through the gears especially for off road driving.
I think it's gonna be great, specially for a short wheelbase vehicle like a bronco. The added control of the manual will help with weight transition both in accelerating though bumps and off jumps and braking/sliding the truck around.
basically I think the bronco will be faster now offroad, not because of the added gears, but because I will be able to make the truck do what I want it to do a little bit better.
