347 Bronco build

347 Bronco build + ZF5 5speed swap

After 240,000 miles of very hard abuse my 302 blew a head gasket, I love my bronco and would never want to give it up or stop driving it and didn't want to waste the time fixing the worn out 302, So i decided to take a half build engine that i collected most of the parts for that i was building for fun out back to use in a little mustang street fighter car and finish the engine and swap it in my bronco. That is explains the use of a 347 in a full size bronco not a very ideal combination I know but hey it might be fun we will see i have always wanted a fast bronco. Will mine be fast? or Semi fast? It remains to be seen!
I will be swapping in a ZF5 at the same time if anyone has a cross member from a ZF5 truck i would be happy to buy it from you!

I don't know. A 347 is great in a mustang. 351 power and torque without the weight penalty. If I rember corretcly a 351 is about 150lbs heavier than a 302. If you install aluminum heads you drop another 50 lbs. I don't think you will see a real savings in a bronco on the street. Should run good but no matter how you cut it the bronco is a heavy truck.

That will make it a lot of fun! I have got to measure out what size push rods i will need Monday and install the timing gears and cover, get the lifters in and get the intake and stuff on trying to hurry up with the engine so i can start on the ZF swap!
