The name Big Bertha is already taken. He will have to rename.

Re: Big Lightning Extreme style!!
I dont think so LOL. Big Bertha (above burgandy 1) was started back in the late 80,s . but went thru some changes over the years from rear springs to 4-link.And then from TTB to massive A-arms up front (still 4x4) and had a foot added to the nose for more wheelbase. Former Portland Trailblazer Cliff Robinsons. As well as the primered 1.philofab wrote:The name Big Bertha is already taken. He will have to rename.

You know, I really like the look of the wheelbase added to the front.

I can't tell if I like it or hate it. Do dig the truck though!

What do you get extra out of extending the front?
I'm just here for the views. It helps me feel wanted.

longer wheel base - and since it seems they were doing a-arms on it I'd bet much of the front of the truck is tube and therefore "easier" to extend here at the time they were doing that.

So it doesn't matter which way you extend it then? I can see the a-arm. Did they move the motor, etc up so the trailing arms are longer?

More wheel base is more wheelbase. With it added to the front the truck will have better weight distribution but still have some violence in the rear seating for ride. Added to the rear give passengers a better ride.hobbyturnedobsession wrote:So it doesn't matter which way you extend it then? I can see the a-arm. Re: Big Lightning Extreme style!!
I rode in it once.Very impressive ride. You are correct chasetruck. The front from the firewall forward is narrowed and all tube to allow for the long A-arms and lengthening. He got the geometery on the A-arms and axles dialed in awesome. If I remember right there was only like 1/2" of plunge full droop to full bump. The hood was primer because some A-hole broke into his enclosed trailer and walked over the roof and on the hood.Stole the stero,2 quads etc. etc. put cracks in the hood.
Re: Big Lightning Extreme style!!
Trailing arms are normal length for a Bronco. The motor is in the stock location.Moving the motor forward would have defeated the purpose of extending the nose.Kevin just made longer fenders and hood. And moved the front suspension forward.I wish I had more pictures of Bertha but thats the only one I have. That was at Sandlake Or. and I rode in it that day.It runs Howe steering ram, pump, and orbital valve.Late 90,s F150 IFS front third member.Bertha has caught alot of Air at Sandlake.Wish I had had pics of that.Kevin will be loading more pics on his site soon and maybe he will have some.I always thought he needed to put 37" rubber on it like the primered one has.I think it would have looked alot better.hobbyturnedobsession wrote:So it doesn't matter which way you extend it then? I love that extended truck. I think if I were to do it I would extend the cabin to get more room but that truck looks awsome none the less.
