Ben's '93
Ben's '93
Well I figured after a year to finally stop collecting parts and start working on my bronco. I bought this bronco about a year and a half ago for $500. It was complete minus an engine and the front seats. I threw a 5.8 that I had sitting in the garage and viola, the bronco was running.
Its a 1993 Eddie Bauer with the 5.8 and 196,000 miles.
I was almost dead set on going sas (I actually bought a D60 and 10.25) until I found this site.
I decided to start on the front suspension first since it was the most ragged out.
Fabtech Front Buckets
Bilstein 5125's (Just got a set of Fox 3.0"x10")
Solo C&T beams
Rancho Radius Arms
ProComp Coils
Ambulance Steering Upgrade
All new brake pads, rotors, calipers, and Crown lines
All bushings and BJ's replaced.
Warn Premium Hubs
35" BFG KM2's on Alcoas

Now that the front was done I moved on to a temporary fix for the rear. AAL and Bilstein 5100's. I am sitting about 1-2" lower in the rear, but this is only a temporary fix.
I am trying to decide right now if I want to go with:
Deaver f53
Deaver j40
64" spring under
Either way I am planning on a 2 link and 2.5" or 3" bypass shocks
How it currently sits

it's cool to see those fabtech buckets installed... can't beat the price on those things either. i had been on the fence for a while about picking those up until i finally decided to build my own.
fyi, you may want to check the orientation of your shocks... i believe they're emulsion and should be mounted shaft end up to prevent cavitation.

Re: Ben's '93
looks nice. i am really starting to like the stock steel.....(shaking my head at all the crap i've had to put up with getting my one piece clip set up)
Re: Ben's '93
Next on the list:
Autofab hood and fenders (sitting in the garage)
Rear fiberglass quarters
Window tint
Rear Bumper
Install winch (8274 that I am currently rebuilding)
Remove body lift that the previous owner installed
MAF / GT40 conversion
Up on the plate this weekend is to install the 8.8 that my brother got me for Christmas. It has 4.56 gears and a Detroit Locker. I am going to go ahead and convert it to explorer rear disks. I'll add a truss and girdle and call it done. This is temporary until I decide if I want a Sterling or FF 9".

Thanks for the comments guys.
lifeinthesouth - I'll check on the orientation I think you are right. These are just temporary till I revalve the 3.0" Foxes sitting on the work bench.

In Virginia they are Nazis on the parking brake for state inspections. I have ran the kits like you linked in the past but never liked the parking brake in the caliper. My DD is a 1996 Explorer 5.0 and I have never had any problems and actually like the brakes. I went to the local pick 'n pull and got everything needed for $30, so I'm going to try this out. Just need to get ahold of my buddy to re-drill the rotors.
