Re: Nicks 95 project
I bought a 4x8 sheet from a plastic place in Las Vegas for about $80. Most of the places selling 12" strips have it marked up a lot.Trever Leach wrote:Where do you guys get that black material for the front bumper?

PM Philo & ask. He knows what plastic it is & you can get hseets from a plastic supplier & cut it. There is a guy that sells the strips for bumpers on DR, but he sells the strips for what a whole sheet costs if I remember right = +/- $60

Re: Nicks 95 project
A kid I know was doing the same, he was trying to sell them for 50$ ea and the whole roll was enough to do 4 bumper strips. As I recall the stuff Kartek was selling is 1/8x12x40 for about 80$ ish. I'd just goto the plastics supply house by angels stadium and orangethorpe/57fwy. But in trevers case there's another plastic supplier on university in riverside just past Iowa st.

HDPE or ABS is what everyone uses. 1.875 is a good thickness, usually it's textured on one side and smooth on the other.

That 1 7/8" stuff is for your tow truck right Philo? No other bumper needed and won't dent when pushing cars.....but might be a bit heavy for the Bronco.philofab wrote:HDPE or ABS is what everyone uses. 1.875 is a good thickness, usually it's textured on one side and smooth on the other.

Re: Nicks 95 project
The stuff this kid bought was cheezy I'd definitely get 3/16-ish possibly 1/4 just cause you don't want it flapping in the wind.
