I like it a little higher in the rear so when i throw my spare, chase stuff and cooler back there it sits about level.

Those are front spring plates. He is referring to Deaver coils.

Got it. I was headed into work and saw it pop up. I didn't have a whole lot of time, just figured he wanted to drop the rear a little.

Since that last dyno pull the E303 cam, bassani y pipe and full 3" exhaust has been added. Ill post up after my dyno tune is done.
The Bronco just got new plugs, fuel filter, distributor cap a few new pullies and alternator, and fresh oil change synthetic 10w40. When the new computer comes in its off to the dynojet and hopefully in time for KOH!

After tune

212hp @ 3700rpm
289tq @ 3300rpm

The tune went well I would highly recomend http://www.arizonadynochip.com/ to anyone who was looking for a good tune guy. Keith is very informative and just generally a nice guy, takes his time and isnt in a hurry to get you out the door.

We made a total of 8 pulls on the dyno, one for a baseline ( 191hp 262tq) and the others getting it dialed in to its current state.
It went a little lean the first few pulls and began to detonate, i told him i dont need a quarter mile queen just reliability on junk fuel haha. I told him how I use the bronco (miles into the desert and runs to mexico) and he went back to the drawing board moving spark and fuel around and getting the shift tables at tq converter lock up dialed in.
I asked him about larger injectors since i keep hearing people concerned about it. Keith tells me that 19# injectors at 80% duty cycle will support up too 252hp, so i have no plans for larger injectors.
All the drivability issues ive been having with the truck are GONE, idles perfectly, downshifts and hits hard and now even pulls all the way up too 5200rpm at WOT before going to OD (previously 3rd would short shift into OD and fall on its face). I really like what he did with the shift tables at WOT. In whatever gear you are in, when you floor it the gear either holds and screams to redline or kicks down immediately to where it needs to be and GOES!
i told him about the trans upgrades (steel planets, zpac clutches, Rv torque converter and punisher valve body) so he increased line pressure on down shifts and WOT shift. I can now lay a black line all the way through the intersection and chirp 2nd... Yes, I am finally satisfied!

Was he able to do all the tuning on the stock 96 computer or does it have any add on boxes?

The stock computer is used. On the back of the computer itseld is the J3 port (not the obd2 port under the ashtray) and thats where the "chip" goes with the tune programed into it.

Ran out for a quick shake down thismorning and man am i impressed! Throttle response, shift points, over all power to the ground is a dramatic difference. Deaver coils and new lower spring plates did awesome as well, i missed these things! Bronco did great today, ill get an alignment this week sometime and get preped for KOH!

Sounds like a better deal than going LS whatever and 4l80, huh? (and cheaper) :)

Ya for sure, Rod. Now that everything is working together it moves pretty good. Getting a dyno tune was the key!
I told Keith about that MAF modual for the e303 cam and he strongly advised against it, just so u know.

Hey Ryan,

Based on Rod's comment... whats the cost of all the mods in/on your motor? Most of that stuff isnt cheap, is it? :D

I'd be interested to see what you have to spend on a 5.8 to get 215ho vs a 6.0.... even though I'll be doing 6.2L Denali (400hp) ;)

Id say $3500ish just for the parts. No doubt the LS will make more power.

215 to the rear wheels though arent as bad as it seems-- remember 35" tires, transfer case-- thats lots of mass to turn. It would be interesting to get the stock to the wheels numbers prior to doing all the mods. I do have a friend of mine that is a fan of roots style superchargers-- get all the drive ability of the stock engine until you mash the gas. The only thing that is disappointing in the numbers is the fact that you have all matched products except for the cam-- I honestly would have thought you would be pushing more like 250 down to the tires.
