After weeks of neglect, the Chonco finally got some love. Picked up some alcoas off of Brian (csdrums) got those mounted and the red lables turned to the inside. Bump stops are halfway mounted, hopefully can give her some more attention soon, was on vacation and have been busy with sidework after hours.

The cage is 2" and 1.75" fully tig welded, goes through the firewall in 4 spots, fully sealed, stock dash and stock headliner. My seats should be done in a week stoked to see it taking shape!

Hi I'm a noob. So if this question is flame worthy, I apologize. With the cross bar, below the dash between the A-pillars, we're you able to retain the factory AC?

No worries, good question. The engine cage ties into the dash tube in four spots, the only way to accomplish that is by ditching the molded ducting for the ac. I made a piece that rivets on to the ac unit and has four tubes to where you can tie in flexy pvc line to connect to round vintage air ducts. Besides that ac is fully functional. Hope that makes sense I'll try to dig up some pics.

CHO- Thanks for the quick reply! If you have pics of that setup that would be awesome. Trying to figure out my cage design for my bronc. Btw, your build is really clean. I want to do something just like this for mine. What are the travel numbers your getting?

Rob- sarcasm and ball busting are more than appreciated.

Havent had much updates in a while, ive been out of town almost every weekend for the past couple months, had to finish up some side work, but now am able to focus alot more energy on the chonco. Still have alot of busy work to do, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping to drive it in tbe next couple of weeks and have the rear done and the truck desert ready by halloween.

CHO, your work is amazing, really looking forward to seeing this wrapped up! Bray has been sending me pics of his build as well and that is coming out really nice.

Yep just about, I weld small sections and jump around to keep the part from getting too hot in one area.
