I would imagine the iPad would work with the gopro app as well.

When I'm offroading I use the suction cup mount inside the windshield pointing out or on the side rear glass on the outside pointing forward. I try to get it as far out as I can on the side and get the truck about 1/3 in the shot. I think I want to get it further out with an extension though to get more of the front wheel moving around. The suction cup mount is really stable and strong so far.

I want to get a Go Pro one of these days. I like the new wifi remote. I was also checking out the quad blade drones that carry the Go pro. It would be fun to take to the races.

Found you go pro guys some good reasonably priced stuff. Found a 3 axis hand held gimbal for 369$, also heilo, radio, and 2 axis gimbal for 700$

With a 2 or 3 expect half the advertised battery life. The 3 is a POS. Avoid at all costs. Frequently locks ups, needs reboot etc.

Get the app for changing settings and such, makes life 100x easier.

I have the 3 and it's not so bad. The software update helped with the freeze ups. The battery life does kind of suck on the highest settings. 1080@60fps you will get maybe 30 min per battery. The wifi helps so much with the settings but kills the battery faster.
