A bracket like that would be VERY simple to make. Especially with Kelly and his plasma table or Erik & the laser helping out ;)

Who's rig is this with the Expedition center console? Can someone tell me the year(s) this model comes out of? I may attempt this while the Bronco is in rehab right now.

This pisses me off, and I want the radio back in the factory hole:

You have a winner there. To be useful and actually use it, you have to be able to see it and be able to reach it.

The one above sure looks nice. I doubt if it will work for my use in Baja because if the cantilever and excess vibration. However the cantilever sure would make it more user friendly as far as reach from the drivers seat. A strong reinforcement under the flimsy dash is definitely required to minimize the issue. Many of the cool mounts are only suitable for the Mall and undesirable in the desert.
My 7" units present location is now pushed forward to be flush with the radio and I have now reinforcement top and bottom of the dash. Both the reinforcements are shaped 3/8" plywood and the wood is stiffer than the several throwaway aluminum versions that I have tried. The main issue with the wood is to hide the top one to make it look ok. I do not have the desired window cage Vees which I would have preferred for the mount.
A mount I saw recently looks pretty interesting. It is basically a metal box to mount the GPS in and is installed by cutting the dash so as to eliminate the stock am/fm radio. Then the box with gps is lowered into the guts if the dash and somehow bolted to the internal structure underneath. This is the way the Sal Fish unit is mounted in the Toureg, however his gps is a tiny 4/5" model.
