Midwest F150 (long travel build hopefully)

Just picked up this 1992 F150 5 speed on a trade for an old Harley (I definitely came out ahead on the deal!)

Its a regular cab short box. 4wd with a rancho 4" lift.
It has a mildly built 302:
Holley Systemax 2 with aluminum heads
70mm throttle body
Ford racing roller rockers
Lunati Cam
Hedman Headers & Holley aero chamber mufflers

Also has 4:10 gears front and rear with lockers

Can anyone tell me the best route to follow to put long travel suspension on this truck, given that it already has the rancho 4"? Anything special i need to take into consideration there? I was thinking the autofab long travel kit, but again, i don't know if the lift kit will affect anything.

Welcome. Cool truck!

For the suspension, all of the rancho stuff will unbolt and can be replaced with the new parts from the long travel suspension. The only caveat here is the rancho drop brackets replace the factory beam hangers so you'll have to find those.

Desolate has new 2wd beams for stock width trucks, but the kicker is you basically have to go straight to coilovers and their radius arms so it is pricy, but they’re fully fabbed beams

Correct, long story short I bought my truck because it was super clean but 2wd and then I ended up planning to convert it to 4x4 to have an all around do everything rig, then I bought my tacoma so now I don’t really care about having 4x4 and Greg needed a mock up truck for the 2wd beams so here we are. I didn’t want want to go wider, run bent beams, or have king pins so this is the best outcome

Got it. I was wondering why you dropped the 4wd swap plan but that explains it. Can't wait to see the LS go in it next.
