Bronco fever in Tucson,AZ

Post by Droolsport »

So a few months ago I was given the opportunity to buy a coworkers boy friends Bronco. I was not looking for a Bronco nor was I in the market for any type of older vehicle project. Having previously owned a 66' Mustang I knew how quickly they make money disappear. But something about this Bronco instantly appealed to me and I had this overwhelming desire to buy it. My daily driver is a 09 FX4 and we always had a F150 in the family stable growing up.
So I bought it for $3000.
1990 XLT 351W E40D 170,000+ miles with rebuilt heads
4" rancho drop beam lift w quad shocks
33" tires
10.25" rear with leafs out of a F250
6pt Protofab family cage on order

Im in the process of learning as much as I can about the TTB suspension and how to make these machines handle and driving fast in the desert.
I have friends who have raced NORRA and BITD in various vehicles including moto so of course we are planning on taking this beast down to Baja. Looking at the new "rally" class for the NORRA 500 next year. I will post up questions in the other forum. Thanks in advance for any advice from the group, looking forward to taking #Megafuana to the next level.

Cheers
Eric
