New here with a 94 f150

Post by TheChubbyOutdoorsman »

Hey all! SO i have been lurking on this page for a while now. I have a 1994 f150 extended cab 4x4 5.0 e4od bw1356 all stock d44 ttb, swapped in sterling 10.25 full float rear. It is currently on a worn out skyjacker 8 inch suspension lift, and a 3 inch body lift. I have owned it for about 10 years, been sold, was bought back, currently sits waiting on a makeover. My idea is more of an expedition/ adventure build to be my "official vehicle" of The Chubby Outdoorsman, and all of my trips planned. I was initially planning on swapping a pair of 05+ super duty straight axles under it. However I do enjoy being able to have a nicer/ smoother suspension offered by the ttb as it is mostly going to be fire roads, back roads, maybe some beach driving as well as interstate driving. The plan is to strip the 8 inch lift off, for now put a rough country 2.5" drop down brackets and springs, then fabbing up my own radius arms for some travel, and running some bilstein shocks, At least 5100s. The rear is going to keep the skyjacker ass a leaf, as well as some bilstein 5100s as well. Undecided if i want to keep the 1 ton rear end or not.Just glad to be here and hoping to get some good information or tips from you guys with more experience than i do with these ttbs.I will work on adding pictures when i can to see how she is sitting now.

Fantastic! Thank you! As you can see she definitely needs a lot of love, but it has loved a life of a daily driver, to a mud truck on 40" tires, to being sold off and bought back and just generally was meglected for a while. However I am at a point in life where I can start to afford to fix it, albeit slowly. I just feel it needs to be back on the road.

Ok so things are starting to move forwards with this truck. Ive got new front end bushings to install, picked up a chevy d44 3/4 ton to do an 8 lug conversion on the front. Still deciding on lift height and such though, so it will probably he going back on its 8 inch lift coils until i can afford a camburg or autofab kit.

I have seriously been thinking about it, I will probably settle on some 37s, at least for the time being.
