Interesting. I've never seen that one before but it looks cool. Looks as if you can notch at a higher angle than you can on the JD2 or pro tools.

What is the cost on it? Didn't see that mentioned on the site.

It's like 500$. I thought it looked interesting for difficult angles. There's a degree wheel on it so for large dia, u hit the front edge till the hole saw bottoms out, retract, go to the back or side of the tube, line up the degree mark and start the other half of a long notch. The guy in the vid had a little bit the hole saw wouldn't reach and he hit it with a jigsaw. It's was 2.5 inch pipe though.

The JD2 and Protools bottom out on high angle notches in 2" and 1.75" even. This often depends on the type/size of hole saw used as some are deeper than others. The longer/deeper the hole saw the less this happens obviously.

What I typically do when this happens is grab the end of the tube that is getting cut off with pliers & break the piece off. The hole saw cut is typically through the tube far enough to make this very easy. I then just clean up the end of the notch on the belt sander.

Same design as a JMR only in aluminum.......

Also says, "out of stock"

One of these days I am going to make one like that and pillage my pro-tools for the parts. One of these days.......

yes, similar to JMR but looks to cost less and possibly clamps better.

And one of these days I'm going to take many of the parts I have sitting here & actually make my notcher attachment for my lathe. Been on the "to do one day" list for years. I've got the roughing mills in 1/4" increments from 3/4" up to 2" sitting here already too. Just not enough drive or time to get off my butt.
