Wanted 1996 bronco donor

Post by Dan L »

Confession time......I put my sweet 96(formerly owned by Robert Craven) on its side on the Mojave rd. The damage is substantial at the A and B pillars. I'm looking for a high mileage, unmolested, 96 to transfer all the quality parts.

Come on, I know one of you guys has one hiding in your garage.

if it just body ....you can probably expand your year range 92-96

also get some auto fab rear finders this may simplify the repair in rear.

If you need other parts I get the 1996

At this point, Based on the information so far, I think my plan of action is to transfer my suspension and possibly my drivetrain as well. Currently I have a stock 96 5.8 with 140k, tranny has a shift kit and oversized oil pan.I'm told that a 95 or 96 is most desirable because of firewall/wiring considerations. So far I'm uncomfortable with a repair that doesn't replace the cab and all associated sheet metal. A and B pillars are substantially distorted, and for all I know the entire cab is tweaked. In a perfect world I'd like to fine a pristine, stock, 96 with a blown motor, for cheap. Gray interior preferred. A unicorn I suspect.. lol

Just be patient & keep searching. From what I have found in my own endeavors like this there is ALWAYS one out there. Of course it usually shows up for me about the time I get impatient, say "eff it" and buy one just to get it done - which is a lot sooner than I should most times as I am impatient!

Did you text Travis yet? He listed his number above. He had a cab ('95 is I remember right) he was getting rid of a while ago.

Why not swap all the parts on to the bone stock 96 you have now? I believe all of Craven's truck was bolted on so could be a fairly easy swap.

I'll sell you my 96- it's stupid clean- like stupid clean and all the parts I put in mine are bolt on. Mine is a 96 5.8 as well. It's $10.5k but you can swap parts and recoup a huge chunk between the 2 trucks.

I'm interested. I am very happy with my suspension set-up, so I intend to transfer it over to the "new truck".
If I remove all of your parts, what would the resale value be. Do you know of people that would want to buy those parts?

Not sure on the resale but there's lots of things there that people want. I'd bet you'd use more of the things on mine than you think. Ive got a build thread Cheryl is the trucks name :-)

Definitely did not want to imply there is an issue with your parts. I'm just very happy with what I've got. I cant find a build thread for Cheryl. Can you send me a link. I dig the color of the truck! What did you do for the from suspension?

You've peaked my interest. The idea of doing a truck has been rattling around in my brain. I was thinking a regular cab short bed.
What do you have?
