Ole Yellar - Prerun Bronco

Post by baja-chris »

Ole Yellar – Prerun / Chase Hot Rod Bronco $28k
• Built by Glen Straightiff (Complete Fabrication) from a 1989 Bronco but with 92-96 front clip.
• Autofab fiberglass front fenders and hinged hood with struts.
• Batteries located to rear of truck (dual Optimas with switch up front)
• Full 10-point chromoly cage, 1.75x0.120 wall. Removable bar behind front seats.
• Front seats are aftermarket luxury seats, slide, recline, adj lumbar. Middle seat slides too and flips down for console and has storage under. Rear stock bench seat fits or can be removed for extra storage.
• Full interior painted silver then has Line-X coating on lower half. Numerous LED interior lights.
• Engine is a low compression EFI stroker (EEC-IV Mass Air SEFI with tune), 414 cu in, burns 87 octane, tons of torque over wide range. Billet SCAT bottom end, full race heads and intake, custom long tube headers, etc. Big cam but still makes huge torque off idle. Custom airbox that uses Cummins diesel air filter and designed so silt and water can drop out. Likes to rev when you really want power. Basically it’s a low compression race engine. Huge sump. Oil cooler.
• Full race C6 reverse manual valve body by Culhane with gate shifter (brand new rebuild). 2400 rpm stall converter perfectly matched to engine and truck weight. Dual coolers with fans.
• BW1356 transfer case, recent rebuild with new bearings and seals.
• Rear end is a 4” dia Tube Works with Tube Works hubs. Full floater race car stuff.
• 4.11 gears (pulls HARD with this engine, no need for low gears when you have motor)
• Front diff is gear driven Torsen style (Tru-Trac). Rear is spool.
• Stock front brakes, Wilwood rear disks. Stops great.
• Oversized fuel tank (45 gal) with ATL sump that contains dual 255lph pumps (backup).
• Custom rear bumper with swing gate that holds spare tire, Brunnhoezl race jack, two 5 gal cans. LED backups, receiver hitch built to be used.
• Custom front bumper with three 8” HID (Baja Design La Paz series), front receiver hitch.
• 35x12.50r15 BFG Bajas on old school 5 spoke AR wheels
• Suspension has 16+ travel all four corners.
• Rear shocks are King 3” triple bypass race series with Deaver 2.5” wide leafs, Autofab +2” shackles, custom chromoly front hanger, modified rear hanger tied into cage. Rear also has Fox air bumps.
• Front suspension is 3” Kuster coilover with custom progressive Eibach coils for silky smooth rate transitions. Plus Fox air bumps.
• Beams are boxed and bridged, chromoly radius arms, uniball pivots, heimed radius arms.
• Steering is a single relay with ram assist on a Tommy Lee ported box, Saginaw pump with remote reservoir, chromoly links and heims all double shear, relay arm uses a sector shaft with bearings.
• 3G high output alternator. Cold Air conditioning. Extra gauges.
• Ready for 1000’s of miles of baja. This thing is a beast that will go anywhere, do it quick and bring you home again . Stop anywhere and tow your friends without getting stuck. Handles nice on the pavement and the seats make getting in and out super easy.
• Comes with a bikini top that snaps to cage and seals to cab when rear shell is removed.

I have too many cars and toys. I want to move closer to work and am finding it very difficult to find room for so many cars. I have $70k into that bronco, sigh.
I'm selling my awesome bronco and also my bad ass F350 4x4 crewcab powerstroke with dual detroit lockers, 12k winch, 155 gal diesel, etc.
The powerstroke is a 95 (7.3l) with the banks 300hp/630ftlb kit on it. Has 300k miles. But needs rear brakes. Want $8k for it.
I might sell the Tahoe also but if I did, I'd probably replace it with a Raptor. I'll still have the 4-seater prerun car plus the race bronco.

Yes and no, I like the mild look and it would be nice to drive a Bronco that can get out of its own way. Besides mine will be down for awile. I was plannnig to give mine to my son in a few years an build a EB but this might be better.
