I run all my Hella 4000's with conversion kits. I use to use the external ballasts but the last 2 I converted, I found ballasts that were small enough to fit inside the housing. I had to remove the housing they came in and waterproof the circuit board with RTV red. They are still good after a couple year's. When I get the Bronco back together and start thinking of lighting, I may see what is out there to convert all 10 of my Hellas to internal ballasts. I will be running 6 on a roof light bar and 4 on the front bumper.
