351w short block with nice top end all parts in new condition

Post by hollandermotorsports »

I am posting this because it doesn't make sense for me to assemble with my 408 in progress. So here is what it is. Ford non roller block bored a little over and crank (stock stroke) with longer H-beam rods (I forget the brand) TRW forged pistons, All balanced, Ford motorsports J-302 Aluminum heads ported already and ready to go, Port matched Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads, SVT 1.6 roller rockers, stud girdles, and Ford motor sports tall valve covers for clearance. The motor was originally assembled by JBA and never ran Then the original owner pulled heads and stuff to part out so I bought the whole thing minus cam and lifters and push rods. Ford Motorsports discontinued the j-302 heads but but a lot of people loved them they just required port work to flow good. The original build receipt was $9k. Like I said these parts were installed but not ran. The motor was built for 10.5 to 1 compression and some where around 450hp with original cam. It would be a cool motor but with my current motor and new motor on the way I do not really need it. It was an impulse buy lol. I would like to get $4500 for it but any reasonable offer will be excepted call or text 760-803-9469

Price drop $3500 firm if it sells this week. Otherwise I will spend the money to complete and try to sell completed with dyno sheets. But the price will more than likely at least double with that said. The motor is bored .030" over and they are crower rods. I have also bought ARP head studs for it with the good Fel-pro head gaskets for aluminum heads and a high volume oil pump as well which can be added for extra $. New short block is in the mail and need to free up an engine stand and space. Price is firm unless you have something cool to trade like a dual sport or nice flatbed trailer or you can do nice paint work or auto wraps or a pre 79 crew cab shorty or a 96 or newer DCB mach 22 or 21' Daytona with twins in which case I have some cash for you to add lol. I don't need the money as much as I would just like the room so trades work for me. Call or text 760-803-9469

That's what I was thinking. I have had some tire kickers so I figured I would really drop the price to see if anyone was serious. Oh well.

Who are you having build your short block 408w? Someone local?

I talked to Rich Performance Product's out of Manhattan Kansas. I am looking at a 9.5 or 10 to 1 compression with 64cc GT40 ported and polished heads. I am shooting for 450-500 of reliable Horsepower on pump gas. The short block would be around $2700 with $300 for shipping. I have rebuilt a couple motors before and Have been considering doing it myself and just have the machine work done local. We shall see.

Kansas David? Unless they're super cheap or something, we have a longtime Ford specialist right here in Valencia who will be building mine. No bling, no hype, just reliable horsepower and torque with nothing but the worst Pemex for fuel.

I had a friend get a 502 Ford Stroker from them and it has been a great motor. Also, $3000 with shipping and no core charge to worry about. If I get bored one night, I may just tear down my 351w which is already on the engine stand and do the stroker myself. About half the cost.
We will see, thanks Jim

A little update the motor is just about finished. All new hardware was used in the assembly and all components are new. Things it needs water pump and carb to be complete. I had built with a bronco oil pan. Price jump is now in affect. New price is $6k as is or $7k with dyno sheets. I had assembled with high volume oil pump. I did not spare any expense during the assembly.

ok now that the dust has settleled from some recent trips and stuff I will go ahead and bump this thread as well as lower the price. This is a screaming deal and I would like it gone before the 500. I will let it go for $4500 or $4800 with gt-40 intake and all. There is a lot into this build and price is firm. I will consider trades of equal value and if you have a cool enough trade I will include cash. Call or text if interested. 760-803-9469
