The loading I was aware of and tried to design accordingly, the messing with anti-squat is a bit of a surprise. Can I ask for a bit more detail? I want to make sure if I go back and tweak I won’t miss anything. I’ve currently got about 63% anti squat designed.

Re: Nothing special class3 pics
Squat/anti squat works off the pinion trying to rotate the housing and the links trying to resist or promote it through rotating the housing. The mounts being off center puts a load into the housing that your calculator does not take into effect. This will give you more squat than you think you will be getting. Also having the mounts that far forward of the top mounts makes it articulate funky.

Thanks for elaborating. As they say, experience is what you have right after you needed it. I only have the link parts cut, I’ll keep playing around with the placement and geometry before getting any further...

Looks like I’ll be able to get there without effecting any of the part I had cut already. Probably a couple nights of tweaking it a bit more over the weekend.
Thanks again.

Got a windshield for free off Craigslist. I plan to make it removable for racing/prerunning. My plan is to adhere sheetmetal tabs to the glass and bolt it to the roll cage. The body is hard mounted to the cage. Any thoughts on risk, or give it a try?
I’m leaning towards give it a try as we have several UTV windshield designs at work that rely on sheetmetal tabs bonded to glass.

Even with everything solid/tied to the cage I think there may be enough light flex to crack it. It seems those things can't do with much flex at all rigid mounted. That being said it was free, so put some rubber isolators on the mounts & give it a try!

How do you bond metal tabs to glass?

Dow makes an adhesive specifically for it, but I don’t remember the exact name. 3M has stuff as well, but I have no experience with it.

It's the same stuff they use to mount rear view mirrors.

Re: Nothing special class3 pics
Hopefully it's better than the $hit you get at Vatozone then! Had a buddy goofing around somehow pull the rear view mirror off in my old mazda truck in high school. I got the kits from the auto parts store to re-glue that tab and it never stayed again. I'd follow the directions to the T each time, cleaning the piss out of it 1st, making sure it had ample setup time ,etc. As soon as I'd hit a gravel or washboard road the mirror would end up on my floor again. I left it off for a while & glued one on right before I sold that thing!

Hover Bronco mode once again. Got it leveled out over the chassis jig to start linking the rear. I should have the Deaver’s, shackles, and hangers all for sale soon if anyone is looking.

Asking because i'm going to need leafs soon. Plan is to run Q80 low rides, but depending on what he has, i might be able to work them into stage 1 of my build.

Well, this fat old girl drove herself onto a trailer to come home today for the first time since ditching the leaves for links...
