Here are a few shots from last weekend's test at Plaster City. Chris and Glen have done an awesome job rebuilding/refurbishing the truck.

To date, they have done the following:

removed, straightened, and reinstalled the front axle (it was badly tweaked on both sides of the pumpkin)
rebuilt the transfer case
rebuilt the rear axle
had C4 rebuilt by Steve Culhane with a new manual valve body
had power steering box and pump rebuilt by Tom Lee
had rear springs refurbed by Deaver
installed 3 new shocks per wheel on the front and 2 shocks per each rear wheel
installed new steering linkage
installed 4 new 32/11.50/15 BFG KM2 tires
had the original fuel cell bladders refurbished by Harmon fuel cells
installed new fuel lines and fuel system components
installed new master cylinder and re-furbished the braking system

Needless to say, the truck drives like a completely different vehicle. Glen and Chris have performed an incredible transformation. A few more mechanical items need to be sorted out but they're now in a phase where the physical beautification can begin. The truck is now at the body shop getting some metal straightened in anticipation of its period correct Stroppe colors to be applied.

Hopefully my attempt at attaching some pics will work.

Reviving this thread.....

Andrew Norton and I are running the Stroppe again in this year's edition of the NORRA Mexican 1000 - just a few short weeks away. Chris and Glen did such a great job restoring/rebuilding the truck 2 years ago that we don't have a lot to do to the vehicle other than a few repairs and some general prep. We're taking her out in the dirt this weekend for a general shakedown cruise to make sure everything's still in order.

I'll post pics and stories from our upcoming adventure in this thread.
