That's so awesome! Congratulations guys. Cool to see another 78-79 killing it. Now get that thing down to the 500 and give Moss some competition. That would be epic.

After some more tuning and a couple more races under our belt we will race the Moss brothers hopefully.

The race we went to was organized by Texas Desert Racing Association or TDRA and, ya when I moved out here I thought there would be more races but all the races are down in texas , a nd that would be sweat if they organized a race from Wilcox to Else Paso

That is AWESOME!!! How fun to race with your sons!!! So cool. You mentioned all the races are "down here" in Texas...where are your from? I heard a while back that there is some kind of race or rally from Garden City to Dodge City, Kansas on the old Arkansas River Bed but haven't found anything on it...

Were located in Albuquerque New Mexico, and the closest races we can find are in texas, 6 hour drive , are next races are in Texas and in Parker AZ.

Smith, are you in the construction business in Abq? I have a good friend who is in the window biz there, Williams Window and Door.

Found my old camera that had the Laughlin photos on it and saw this classy bronco getting some air.

Started working on the bronco again, trying to get it running so I can drive to the garage to work on it, and so we can go race in Electron Paso on Memorial weakend.

Got the bronco running again, drove it to the garage to start working on it once again, and do a little up grades.

So, I wanted to here your guys thoughts of going class 8 and converting the front end from solid axle to TTB and the rear from leaf springs to 4 link, I know it's a lot of work but I want to here what you guys have to say about this.

There's a ton of added expense in a 4 link. There great if the geometry is good and really bad if done wrong. Besides shocks and coil carriers there's many hiems and bungs but you will also need a sway bar and sway bar links. So the total package adds up fast in respect to overall cost and maintenance. Secondly the class 8 rules may be more forgiving but it opens you up to stronger competitors due to the majority of vehicles having an increased wheelbase. Me personally, if I were going class 8 I'd do a shortbed truck cause of the wheelbase being closer to optimal in reguards to whoops. Anything under 119" gets kinda squirrelly over 90 mph. If I were in your shoes I'd buy the truck and do a swap over at seasons end vs all the downtime of starting to modify your exsisting rig. Let me know when you decide to go 4 link ill email you a pretty decent link calculator. Another thing I would do is make multiple holes on the upper link frame side mounts to make weight transfer more adjustable. Depending on upper link bar angle one may hop,one may dig, and one may be just right because weight transfer equals downward force in the traction aspect. Also the drive line plunge needs to be measured and if you don't have it at the time depending on what rig you chose to link it will need a fixed output shaft in the transmission. There's alot more angle involved and a slip yolk in the tail shaft housing will spell disaster if big travel numbers are achieved.
