Alright we just picked up the truck from a guy on DR. The truck is an 83' Ford F-150 that has a updated front clip. It has a 42 gal. fuel cell that is under the spare tire. It is sitting on 37" BFG Projects with 17" Ultra Bead Locks. The spare tire is a 37"x12.5-15 Goodyear GSA on a 15" Ultra Beadlock. The rear is a D44 I believe with some sort of locker, stock suspension, and wheel spacers. The front is all stock as-well. It has front and rear fiberglass fenders, it is also caged with bucket seats and crow 5 point harness. This will be a fun little shop build. Alot of the truck will have to be rebuilt. We are trying to figure out if we will be Racing this thing or just building to go have fun in, and try to get a hold of one that is clean and hasn't been touched. What should we do?

What are the issues with the truck? Looks solid and well built in the pics.

If you want another truck I know of a Gen 1 lightning for sale or trade...

Cage is built in 1.5" so we would basically have to cut the whole thing out and do it all over again. lol the rear end is some weird like D44 swap or something. and the front beam pivots have had plate welded on and re-drilled 3" wider lol "it's a 3" over kit" But anyways can you get any pics of the lighting? and what is he or they willing to trade?

Mexican built...

Meaning built in Mexico - not built by a Mexican up here. There IS a difference - haha

As I said on DR - the best thing to do with this is get a stock F-150 of the same era for cheap and change over whatever parts you can over.

That thing was reasonably cheap, but I hope you got it cheap enough to be worth the parts you will salvage off of it to put on the new truck.

Either way the truck LOOKS cool so swap the good parts over to a solid, REGISTERABLE truck.

Exactly.

That is the reason I made a low offer to the guy. It would be a HUGE pain to register up here so my offer had to be low enough to make some $$ on parting the thing out. And I definitely couldn't include the suspension or cab cage in the numbers I was running when calculating the part out $$.

Just a little update on the Prerunner build. We picked up a new Holly 600 CFM Carburetor for it. We will be doing a few thing to this carb to make it handle the desert a little better. If you have any idea's for us to do to this thing.

I've heard C&J Engineering's name thrown around alot.

ADMIN EDIT: Image removed, no hot linking.

Holley makes the truck avenger with spring loaded needle and seats. I don't think they make offroad kits like they used to. They do sell the spring loaded needle and seats separately, though
