Well, I am back.

I sold the Beast Bronco, and have moved on. She was fast, but there were things that I should have done differently from the beginning. Number 1 was sticking with a stock efi motor would have been much better, as I was getting like 6mpg on premium with the 414w stroker motor. Also, My family has grown, and I couldn't fit everyone in the bronco.

Now it is time for a new project, I got a 94 ranger 4x4, 4.0. and I am going to basically make a 5 seater UTV.

This will be a C&T stock width, leaf sprung buggy.

I got a set of saw 2.5x12" coilovers for the front, and some saw 2.5"x18 bypasses for the back.

I am going to do the shackle flip with chevy 64" springs setup in the back.

The idea is basically a UTV/prerunner truggy.

So far I have acquired some parts, and ripped the body off. I got a pile of 1.5"x .095 wall DOM for the cage. I am going for lightweight. This is going to be more of an adventure vehicle that sees mountains, and desert, than pure desert.

I got a 8.8 out of a 2000 sploder, 3.73 posi, this thing has the dana 35 with 3.73's in front. I got a set of 33x12.50x15's.
It has a blown automatic tranny, I picked up an M5OD-R1 5 speed, and I am looking for a manual shift t-case.

My plan is to do a fuel cell. I am going to have to re-engineer the interior, as I threw away the cab completely. I have all the wiring, pedals, shifters ect, but I think I am going to build a pedal box like a racecar, and just pretty much start from scratch. New Mexico has pretty relaxed rules for vehicles, and It looks like it can be street legal with no windshield.

I sure appreciated all the help I got here with my Bronco project, I am hoping to ram this project through in a short period of time. Like be done within a year from now, LOL, we will see!

Today I ripped the rear end off after checking the pinion angle.

I will have to cut the leaf spring mounts off the sploder rear end, and re weld them on, I figure I will put the new spring on, u-bolted loosly, put the angle gauge back on, and rotate it till it is the same angle as before, then weld the perches back on. I removed the shackle hangers, plan to eef up the shackles, but leave them the same length.

I got the springs mounted and realized I would need to re- arch them.

So I used the kinker and it worked. Re-arched them 3.5in.



Made some leaf plates/lower rear shock mounts, not quite done yet, they will be getting plated across the shock mount areas, leaving room for the end of the shock.

Moving forward, I cut and turned the beams, and built extended radius arms.

I was looking for 3" of lift in the front, so I jacked it up to normal ride height, took measurements, then lowered the beams so that it would have 3" of lift, measured again, and determined that I would need to move the lower ball joints out by 20mm. It was the same on both sides. I cut the lower ball joints out, added a 20mm wide piece of 3/8's and welded the hell out of them. The knuckles went back on, and after reinstalling, it was success.

On the radius arms, I cut the stock ones in half, got a piece of 2" DOM, welded in a bung to accept a big heim, then added another piece of 1.5 pipe to the bottom, after mocking it up to get the right castor and wheelbase.

Due to this blasphemy that I have comitted, it will end up being the XP5300.

I really wanted an automatic, and I just couldn't figure out a cheap way to make the 4.0 work as an auto. It was cheaper to get a 5.3 with tranny and t-case, than to rebuild the pos auto trans I had.

My goal is to get this done for less than 5K, so it is a super budget build, so far I have spent 3500, and I have most of the important stuff covered.
