Ya'll probably think I am nuts, LOL...
I sold the Bronco to get a truck. After looking at a dozen total piles, I stumbled upon this beauty for DIRT CHEAP! Came with a 4x8 trailer as well. Perfect for hauling the dirt scooters.
97 Sport 2wd, 4.0L OHV automatic. Runs and drives amazing! Sits on some 31's with good tread. My son had a blast making fun of "Barney" as he called it. Poked at me that we had a girl version of a Bronco now. We jumped on line so I could show him that you can actually make it semi-cool with the right parts. Now he is sold! LOL. He will be driving soon, so this will eventually be his little off road rig. I already had him fix a couple interior things, like the outside door handle and passenger window track. The only thing we could find mechanically is a small valve cover leak. We will document him working on it soon.

No. It has the a-arm with torsion bars. 2wd. My last Ranger was the same set up but with coilover conversion

Re: Flying Purple People Eater
Finally did something small. I bought my first TIG welder almost a year ago and finally fired it up. I take my bumper jack anytime we go off road and needed to secure it from bouncing around (without bungee cords or zip ties)
It's the little things that keep me going.

I am super proud of my son also. He's 14 and hasn't showed a ton of interest in garage fab type stuff. He will turn a wrench on his dirt bike, but meh on cutting, welding, measuring, etc...
He walked out into the garage while I was setting up the welder and was like "What is that" pointing to the torch. I know about as much as he does at this point, so I had him look up a couple videos and articles while I got everything together. He took to it like a champ! Score - welding-1, video games-0

Awesome your son showed some interest & picked up the torch! Been trying to get my daughter in to it since I used to joke she'd be welding by 3. She's 4 now & still shows no sign of interest - haha
