1995 F-150 Build

Post by S00TLYFE »

Went ahead and got some Solo Motorsports door handle braces (my driver door was cracked and I didn’t even know it) and topped the upgrades off with Desolate Motorsports Billet door handles

Went ahead and slapped sound deadener in the doors since the floor was done when I did he vinyl flooring. Toying with dropping the headliner and interior panels and finishing off the whole cab.

May just wait until the spring though since I’m hoping to have it caged then.

worth every penny, turns out my driver door was one good yank away from being broken so i picked a good time to do it.

A little OEM plus action on the truck, stoked my paint guy nailed the color perfectly!

What is that from exactly? Funny as hell how the later model ones all get trashed and look like trash because of the inlay- so much cleaner and cooler !!

So initially I wanted to run the 80-86 tailgate because I saw this truck and really liked how it came out and it was almost 100% bolt on aside from having to change the latch pins, but they don’t make a reproduction one stamped “FORD” and people were asking $400-$500 for rusted out/bowed ones. I remembered that 87-91 had stamped tailgates too on some years and found a mint one on CL about an hour away for $150, had it painted for $300 and slapped it on.

How is your carpet settling in? Better than the vinyl? I still haven't gotten to mine since i'm waiting on speaker stuff.

Honestly it doesn’t quite fit as well as I had hoped, basically it bunches around the trans tunnel but since I’ll have the console in there I’m just going to cut and fold it over to try and get the humps out best I can.

Looking awesome!

I just insulated the entire wagon, made little road noise difference, at least not as much as I’d have liked, but the heat definitely stays out of the truck better, off road noise is significantly reduced, which is awesome.

Thanks dude, I need to do the rest of the cab, definitely have noticed heat/cold retention is a lot better already.

Little more progress today, mounted my Desolate Motorsports console and and installed the first two of the 3 mounts needed for my spare tire carrier, just waiting on a couple more things to show up for that, then cut the bed for the Solo fuel tank access panel, then the bed will be ready for Linex

Finally got around to finishing off the spare tire hold down. Also finally installed my Solo Motorsports fuel tank access panel, they provide rivets but I opted to use rivnuts and some of 1/4”x20 button heads. Once the bed gets Linex’d I’m going to use weather stripping around the opening to 1. prevent getting cut up, and 2. prevent water from
Raining on the top of the pump just in case the seal ever fails. Finally got around to installing the Vintage Iron works fuel tank straps for my 38 gallon tank while I was at it.
