92 Explorer, Rubicon Killer

Post by cs_drums »

Haha, my Bronco I named the Raptor Killer cause when I started building it the was an argument what would be better a Raptor or Bronco with $15 budget.

This is the Rubicon Killer. The plan is ultra simple... 2" lift(unless someone knows of an old simple kit for sale;cough Travisfab), 33x10.5" Mud terrains and lockers. Eventually some custom bumpers, rear tire/gas rack, roof rack. Down the road a camp trailer.

Fresh off the tow truck....Image

Runs great but I lost a tire on the way home, flat spareImage. Can't complain for $500

92, 4.0, 4X4, 5 speed.

Awesome, the idea of these with a simple Cut and Turn, James Duff or even Rancho Kit and 33x10.5s is way cool!

Nice Explorer. I have a very similar plan for mine (2" lift, front and rear bumpers) but will probably stick with 31s until I can take it out of DD duty.

Thank you but it's deceiving. All of the top of the vehicle is faded so bad that it's a different color green. The headliner is pretty beat up too but mechanically it's solid. I'll be watching this build.

Thinking $100 complete with mounts and rancho shocks. I haven't had a chance to check them out yet so that price assumes the shocks are in good condition.

Cool. Let me do a bit of research on them. I think they're a little long for what I want. Any idea how long they are?

Willie has them right now maybe he can grab a measurement. It looks like by the picture that it's about as long as passenger beam.Image

Right on man. These little Explorers are really capable even with what you have going. Don't catch the fever like I did!

Man, you're build keeps creeping into my head. There is still a pile of fullsize beams, rear end, axles, Autofab conversion radius arms, glass... 90% of it. Just waiting to be installed. But I gotta keep it simple, Stupid!
